Rapier Build vs THS Build

Hello guys. I`m currently Swords 2 -> Barbarian 2.

My initial plan was to play full Two Handed Sword with Doppel 2 at the end. But! I didn`t know Highlander was a must-need in terms of THS when I started playing TOS (basically I chose whatever I felt it was cool and fun for me).

Now, I may to play Rapier+Dagger since Barb`s skills have no required stance.
Do I play)
S2 -> B2 -> Corsair 1 -> Fencer 2 or
S2 -> B2 -> Corsair 2 -> Fencer 1 or
S2 -> B2 -> Corsair 3 ?

Corsair 2 Pros: Double Weapon Assault and Hexen Dropper.
Fencer 2 Pros: Preparation -> Attaque Coquille -> Sept Etoiles Combo.

These Pros are purely what I imagine it will be good. I have no real arguments about it or in-depth thoughts. My mind is 100% open for ideias.
By the way, how is Corsair 3 supposed to use Pistol Shot skill, since on Pistols description it says only Archer class wield it?

Unless you want to use cross guard, there really isn’t an need to pick up Highlander.
Corsair 1 is largely useless, unless you absolutely feel Iron Hook + Keelhauling is necessary. Might as well go Barb3 if you want Fencer 2.

Imo highlander fencer is better because fencer hardly auto attacks, mostly spams flacondalle and other abilities on cooldown, you won’t make use of frenzy from the barb tree.
You can still go a dopp because highlander 1 offers nothing. Barb frenzy and dopp deeds of Valor is a nice combo

Also for pistol shot, it is used like a dagger, Double weapon assault removes the downtime of the auto attacks so your chaining auto and gun shot, pistol shot is basically a charged multiple gun shots.
Tl;Dr corsair 3 is useless

Since I`m doing Barbarian 2 and I have Frenzy, doing Barb 3 and Doppel 2 feels good. But missing that Highlander attribute that gives 50% bonus critical damage feels bad. Right? Paradox.

Also, Barbarian Frenzy = Basic attacks and Fencer = Activation skills everywhere. Paradox.

Paradoxes everywhere. What should I do? Maybe what is fun for me and not some best-tree-to-best-dps stuff.

if you’re going fencer, then u don’t need to bother with the critical damage bonus from highlander, since it is only active while using 2H swords. Might as well go barb3 > fencer 2.

I’m personally doing this, this is my build however I haven’t had chance to finish it yet.

There isn’t many options after Corsair C2, Corsair C3 is lackluster atm so would be a waste imo unless they change something drastic any time soon. All 3 fencer skills I have chosen synergize well together.

Pretty interesting, it is exactly one of the builds I was thinking of.
What do you think about Attaque Coquille -> Sept Etoiles? Isn`t it supposed to deal more damage than Attaque Coquille -> Lunge?

More conclusions:

Doing Corsair 1 doesn`t feel good and Corsair 3 is useless.
Corsair 2 should be good because of those two new damage skills.

Do you guys think doing Swords 2 -> Barb 2 -> Highlander! -> Doppel 2 is still viable for me?

Highlander isn’t a must have anymore. What made Highlander 2 a must have in the past was the 0 cd Skyliner, which is nerfed in our release (15s with 3 overheat now).

The Two Handed Attribute is only +50% Crit Attack (the stat), not crit damage.

If Highlander is not needed (for sure, 100%) I will give priority to Two Handed Sword build! Barbarian Frenzy + Doppel Dreads feels awesome for me. I like strong and fast basic attacks.

Final build: Swords 2 -> Barbarian 3 -> Doppel 2.

There is just one final thingy bothering me. I’m currently doing 3.3 STR x 1 DEX. Is it good enough? Some people said 4x1.

pelt> sword 2 because restrain isn’t the best unless its lvl 10. you can still switch between 1h sword and shield to aggro

I dont want to get a Peltasta just for that aggro, I already decided this.

Perhaps I should do Swords 2 -> Barb 2 -> Swords -> Doppel 2 then.
My idea was to get Frenzy 10 but keeping Restrain 5 is kind of weird, I totally agree. Also, I love using Gung Ho and Enhance and I`m constantly upping attributes on it.

Swordsman or Barbarian on Rank 5?

I want to play PvP for fun, no in-depth stuff and PvE as lifestyle.
Isn`t Swords 3 great to handle groups of mobs? He should be good at PvE too.

i’d go barb3 for more points in seism and helm chopper, but that’s the beauty of the game, freedom of choice
