[RANT]Kill Stealing

I’m a support class(linker/chrono). Usually when my friends aren’t online, I do my quest alone and my build path has so little dmg, that I take long time to kill a single mob. I try to get people who are doing the same quest to party with me. but usually people in this game don’t want to socialize(i guess?). Thats fine, thou. The problem is they would just run around KSing you without remorse on what so ever.

One time I was doing a quest and I pulled some mob with my link ability and a ranger ran towards me and spam his skill to the mobs i pulled even thou they were plenty enough to go around. I told the ranger, “Really? Nice Ksing mate” and he said, “yes, can u lure more?”. I mean, seriously?

I’m sure that whatever games you play there will always be People “Kill Stealing”. Some are accidental, some are due to mob density being too low and we’re all competing to finish quest. But most of the time. it’s just people trying to be d**ks because they can and I don’t think that KSing is a bannable offense in this game(i think?), I’m not gonna name people because you already know who you are.

IMC, I like this game. I mean I wouldn’t rant about this if it didn’t occur so much. But…! The community sucks so Baaaaad.

I for one agree with you
Around 99.9% of archers are KSers
and around 90.99% of barbs are KSers

Such a toxic community really
I have no idea why some people just want to be a horrible example as a human.

I don’t actually think people know about kill stealing. Before you chase me with pitch forks hear me out…

In newer MMO games like WoW you simply can’t kill steal and that’s what many players are probably used too. KSing goes back to old games and I’m sure many members of this game don’t know what kill stealing is and the general ethics behind it.

I’m sure people do KS to be annoying, but I’m sure many don’t know what it is.

I know some people are bad but not all of them are. And those bad people can be whatever class they are, so don’t blame the class because some of them are good people too.

I feel you bro, Pelta>Hoplite classes, i lured the mob, and a barb/highlander just 1shotted my stuff. And there’s this hunter that said ‘1 shot’ when he KS’d my mobs

Yup! Like in some of the new games right now, there are built in anti-ksing. where the first guy who hits it gets the exp/quest reward or something like that. In ToS it the same back then when i was playing RO. Last hit/do more dmg/etc.

Im pretty sure like 50% of the time it is intended. like i even ask some of them to not take my kills and it either they reply and be a**hole or it would just provoke them to ks more.

Yep true enough but rarely do I meet them
I don’t really plan to generalize the class as a whole but having not met an archer type class that doesn’t KS really makes me not be able to neglect upon degrading them as a whole.
Then again, if they are not part of that bad example as a whole then there’s no real reason to get mad and feel like they were dumped along with a bunch of jesters.

Ok kido mmorpgs are for the “big kids”.:smile:
You cant take the “ks” and dont want to party up the people that “ks” you/they dont want. Go play solo games. You cant expect people to wait for your 0 dps if they need this monsters as well.
Most of the maps have 4 or even 3 channels so switching helps no one.

So party up or suck it up :muscle:

For KSing, I blame IMC and whoever design this. I hate it as you do.
However if you have your friends, you should ask them to help you do the quest because you are their support and they should not leave you behind. That is MMO way. The other way is to left the quests for when you get a lot higher level than the map are and strong enough to do it easily by yourself. If you have to left the quest, then your grinding is your responsibility. Your role is support, so find your party is also your job. Finding some one who do the grinding is a bit easier than fine some one who do the same quest as you. I always do my quests alone because the quests take too little time to finish and there are so many quest, so finding some one with the same quest is very difficult.

Blame imc for the game design and incredibly low spawn. I don’t think I would resort to ks war for quest mobs if there is enough spawn.

Being a chaplain myself having to suffer the terrible atrocities of being a c3 priest, now i feel entitled to ks any single mob i find near my cursor

The spawn in this game just dont work. Some maps have like 80% if it empty of monster all the time and have 3 channel.this maps got quests so what people need to do?
Imc dont think they need to fix this sadly.

Just wait for the F2P to join in.

I’m kind of nervous to see how much we have to fight over mobs because of the low spawn rate…

yeah i know what you’re saying. As all of as here, we like certain classes be it dps/tank/support/etc and that(ksing) shouldn’t hinder people from playing what they want. Another thing is some people who like playing solo aswell(which is very viable in this game). Also I don’t always solo quest. its just when my friends or perma group isn’t online.

i get ksed too.
i usually ks when the entire map is clear, but then someone changes channel to my channel and starts killing the mobs. basically keep ksing until they leave the channel. show dominance.

ksing doesnt matter because you get the exp for the dmg you deal.
it only matters when you’re trying to do a quest and someone kills the mobs.
or if they keep stalking you. which i would just change channels if im losing exp. you basically have to know when to give up and leave.

if you’re going solo full support, you just made a hard choice. just as it is to choose strength stat as a wizard.

You are asking too much of him, try to be as simple as possible so he can understand.

Back on topic:

Yeah archer and swordsman are classes that don’t have many or no long attack animations so it is easy to get ksed by them.

But depending on the class you can overthrown the ksers fast like i did yesterday on DP Dist 4.

Actually i didnt realy found out how the loot/exp system here works, is it like RO with most dmg dealt, last hit? Sometimes i found already damaged lonely mobs kill them and get loot declined.
Sometimes i feel i did most dmg someone KS, loot declined o.o

Like i tried to farm some rare Material for a Recipe from a 40k HP mob, im still lowlevel, so as a Pyro, i use my whole combo to burst them, and be on CD on petty much all skills then, theres 3 on the whole map, with 2-5min respawn not sure, and pretty much on any channel, on any mob i found, some Swordman class pass by to last hit KS it…when im on CD…
Im not sure if they would get loot then, since its rare i didnt get any dropped in the time, and was so annoyed that i just left for that day, and gonna farm with my brother on a another day, so we outdps just any KSer.
So annyoing, i really love the Tagging system like in WoW.
Just dont apply it on special mobs/bosses, and everything is fine.^^

Most damage, not last hit, i think the last hit is/was related to the EXP gain.

im not sure thou. but i think its last hit(for quest). because usually when i’m attacking a mob that is almost dead and someone else did the finishing blow(killed the mob), then i don’t get the quest.
