Rank Reset Event!

Wish people weren’t so fixated on the Hidden class quest bugs, it really sucks yes, but it has nothing to do why this reset event is good or bad. I feel like those who keep bringing it up are just cherry picking problems to make their point sound more valid, please stop.

And to those who claim they have 20 characters to reset, well rip sorry but you’re actually an extremely small minority because:

  1. You have 20 characters
  2. You have 20 characters that you need to reset for whatever reason

What IMC could have done I guess is give each character 1 time limited reset AND the daily reset per team for two weeks. That would make those who have only a few characters happy and those who have ‘20 characters I need to reset because of whatever reason haHAA’.

But then those players with 20 characters would still cry the event sucks for them, amirite? or amirite.

If they just made an option for a TP based reset people could be happy and IMC could make money. I dunno why they don’t just do this.

Would have to be something really high priced like 300 TP, but I would be OK with that.

EDIT: To add to this, no matter how few the number of people with more than 14 characters the fact is they exist. Same with players who can only log in a few days, and players who won’t have enough resets to test out builds because they didn’t do enough research. They exist, people who are subject to the inadequacies of this reset event exist.

I really wonder why you guys are justifying the current reset event compared to the old one? What good reasons are there that will make this reset event so much better than the old one? Please just tell us so we can tell those people who are disappointed, all about your amazing reasons to support the 14 reset maximum limit.

I personally have 29 chars and one pet. If given the opportunity I would love more character spots purely so I could have a hamster, pig, leaf penguin, and marine blue penguin plus a falcon. Because I don’t wanna delete anything I’m kinda stuck right now. I think 14 resets is a lot, but at the same time im kinda stressed because I do wanna reset a lot of the chars, not all but many. The lower level classes seem weaker and weaker so I end up wanting to turn them more into utility type roles. I do think they could have done this event better, as obviously I am a big spender in the game. I’m more disappointed the master classes weren’t added into this update than anything. The reason I don’t wanna reset all my characters is because of the master class implementation and im not sure if we will even get resets for that.

I would tell them quite simply, if you are disappointed with being given something, to adjust your expectations and stop being upset at hand outs, because it makes you look self-entitled and whiny.

It may also discourage IMC to do more reset events, because regardless of what they do, it isn’t enough for someone.

already addressed that in the same post linked above.

The reset event is not a hand out, it’s necessary for the transition of r9. I sure would like to see the backlash if they don’t do a reset event, but I bet some people will still defend them.

I love how the “this event is bad” arguments are based on a hypothetical number of people such as who have 30 characters and need to reset all 30 characters because all 30 of them are rainbow unplayable builds at Lv.360 that can’t be rerolled because all of them have TP hair colors.

You’re fixated on people with more than 14 characters.

I’ve mentioned others who will also have a hard time, have I not?

read again, k thx 20 char

Just an analogy that just pops on my mind:

"A government decided that whole county is going to be re-purposed for building a government complex. They need to demolish all the resident’s housing in the area.

The house’s price varies from $300k to $1,000,000.
Being dodgy governing body that they are they announced that they will compensate everybody with the same flat amount of $500,000 regardless of actual property value"

Residents whose property is valued under $500k will rejoice. Those with $500k property will be indifferent. The unfortunate one with more $500k will seriously consider coup d’etat.

Ps: In this analogy I’m probably the guy with $300k property, though I feel the pain of the those with property values more than 14 characters per account … oops I mean more than $500k.

Anyway, peace out.

They exist though, not like having the old reset event will suddenly make the supposedly not hypothetical group of players who are currently satisfied suddenly not satisfied?

How hard is it to ask IMC to accomodate a greater scope of players?

Fact remains they did not have to do it. We should support IMC when they give us things, because the opposite could result in them not doing it again. We can certainly suggest that things could be better, in a civil way, but this thread at least at its beginning was anything but.

They run the game, so they decide what do with it. It is not a given.

If they did that, im sure I’d just quit and I’m a day one player with 29 chars.

Though I think they should have resolved this many moons ago with a TP solution.

They had to do it though. Otherwise how are people gonna transition into r9 content? People will quit if they don’t do the reset event. People are also likely to quit (quit again) if this reset event doesn’t work out for them. It worked out for you? Good for you then. But why can’t you accept that IMC could’ve done things so it would work out for more people?

I dunno if I would have quit this time without the reset event as I was very very cautious with my builds, but its something I feel they should do with any substantial class changes.

You can’t please everyone. If you had the event for 30 days per char per day, there will always be someone who was unable to login for that entire month who would feel slighted and disappointed.

Also there is the opposite to consider. There are some players who think that too many resets is a bad thing for the game because it ruins character identity and marginalizes their choices, because they actually spent the time to do the research and theorycrafting to come up with a great build. Now everyone has tons of resets so they can bandwagon to your build without any effort.

IMC weighed both sides of the coin, and decided that 14 resets was enough. I personally agree with them.

I would agree to the issue of “having too many resets” if there were no changes made on existing class trees, or if new classes didn’t start at the already picked r8 class. I agree that people will always complain though, but it’s not good to mock people who have legitimate concerns like what is being done to those who have more than 14 characters by some people here.

I agree that no resets would have been devastating so it had to happen, to some degree.

That’s an option, if i could see into the future. Yeah we deal with IMC but c’mon, how could they f*ck so hard this event, it almost sees to be done on purpose to purchase the shinobi unlock TP thing
