Rank 9: Do you think it is a success?

Will it save the game?

It failed for me, probably gonna quit the game now.

If by success you mean getting the playerbase back to its prime levels, I don’t think IMC will ever see that kind of success no matter what they do from now on. That hype ship has long sailed, never to come back imo.

Now if by success we can just accept how the patch improves gameplay, adds content and new objectives to keep the remaining playerbase entertained for a while more and actually bring back some players who were not playing anymore but who were still holding on to some attachment to its unique style and decided to get back to the game now (my case), it’s definetely a success. Especially so since I’d say it’s been a smooth patch so far, no major bugs nor impeding server problems.

I’ll likely keep playing a while longer now that I’m back, for instance. The patch got me interested enough to interrupt my almost 4 months long break and to set new objectives I’m looking forward to completing in game.

Gave me stuff to do, and random stats on loot will keep me coming back.

As long as they don’t so anything stupid like give away Solmiki Weapons to cheat engine users we should be ok for now.

I like rank9 patch so far but i think it won’t “save” the game.
I just can’t see their objectives, i still have the sensation many core aspects of this game can change with the next patch (who knows, applying a SP consumption like limacon for lightning hands for example)

At least staff now is answering a bit more on the forum but the company is still not comunicating enough with the players IMO.
And they should because playerbase’s trust is so important.

Hit the nail on the head, trust is hard to build once lost. they’ve messed up hard before and choose to ignore us. 1 or 2 more times and RIP TOS.

What they gave to bring back players? A new rank, a few maps and quests, new stuff to use. SAME INSANE AMOUNT OF BUGS, OLD ONES AND NEW ONES. A crappy engine that will not handle gvg or anything that is expected from a mmo. The great potential became just a dream.

People will not come back until they have a decent game to play, in a development view. I still play it, I have a decent gear and use to have some fun even in a bugged tbl. But I will not put any more money in it until it delivers a well done game. Otherwise it seems clear that it is gonna die soon… and will be a sad day.

While I am having a blast with this new patch, it does concern me that the population has only recovered to about September '17 levels. Also factoring in that it’s winter/holidays vacation, the numbers should be higher. I’d hate to see what the numbers will look like after the patch hype dies down.

the update only seem to spread by the people that acctually play it too, i dont see any typical news sites mentioning the update at all so

For me it’s kinda dissapointing because of the dun rework. My main task always was farming the 140/170 ( old 130/145) while i saw my silver rise. Now i have no idea how to make easy money.

Well, 3 group runs os dg 300 is already at almost 700k (factoring talts only). And it’s usually faster than most people could solo farm 170 on scouts back in the day.

The old dg140 usually gave 250k ea run… the new 300 dg gives 220k ea run…

Now that everyone is doing dg 300 and rushing it, it is actually as fast as farming the old dg 140 (approx less than 10 mins per toon now)

I see, but you have to get a party, im too lazy for that. Thanks for the tip anyway

Yes. It has successfully doubled/tripled the price of items on my server.

*clicks * See steam chart reference

Use proper data , you can see more here . Past week looks healthier , saw many returning players on my server. Market definitely look fresher , not the same stuff and everybody cutting each other .

Builds wise , way more diverse.

I love it. Rank 9 allowed me to finally test some builds I’ve theorycrafted for a long time and I’m deeply satisfied with the results so far! My guild is alive again, we’re doing challenge mode every night and sometimes we farm in the HG340 too. I still haven’t got the opportunity to start questing in the new maps yet, there are so many things to do right now… But I’m definitely looking forward to it, since I like ToS lore.

R9 by itself ? Probably. Most people who were waiting for it and joined back as soon as it was released are happy and enjoying TOS again.
I think the new dungeons system really revived the dungeons. Now there are always people queueing for them. And no more idiots who queue yet rush to boss.

But if you mean “a success for getting back players overall”, then no.
From what I heard (well, read :P), a lot of players came back to check a bit but then definitely left the game, or didn’t even bother because no matter what they add, the fact there are still a lot of bugs, lag, crashes, etc., annoy people way too much.
You can have fun classes, they can add content, but if in the end opening your friend list can crash you, if someone using Frost Tree can crash/freeze you to death, if jerks can use their aoes on the seeds to destroy them so nobody gets exp, if you cannot do your hidden quests, etc., then people just don’t want to play.
Now that they’ve added new classes and new contents, they should focus on finishing the classes “balancing”, and after that I hope they seriously put all their efforts into optimizing the game and fixing bugs for real. No matter what, a game can’t survive if it’s full of bugs.

The aggravating thing is this game could be ridiculous popular and successful if they listened to a few of our ideas/suggestions such as toning down the p2w, adding invisible helmet etc.

But alas, this game is not meant to succeed it seems.

See you guys in PUBG/lineage 2 revolution.

Because you can net 660k per character everyday by doing dungeon 300 on all your characters, not counting the entrance resets you get from the event.
