Quests and EXP cards

Personally I feel like having most quests reward the player with experience makes them follow the same linear path every time. Thus, I think that the game would feel less linear if only a few quests had (bigger) EXP cards as rewards, and most others would reward items and equipment, making the players go out of their way to look for leveling routes (so having multiple areas with similar monster level but different weaknesses would help).

Of course this the opinion of a single player, but I’d like to see what others think as well.

Linear progression is one of the biggest complaints with MMO’s nowadays so I agree! It’s nice having options in where you can level and not feel like your freedom of exploration is being restricted and ToS is supposed to be big on players exploring the world afterall.

As it stands, ToS has deviated quite a bit from linear progression.

It’s pretty much impossible to directly follow the quest line even if accept all the side quests because you’ll eventually be too under-levelled for it. Personally, I’m all for deviating it even more but there are many casuals that will be put off by this.

I played the kcbt 1, 2 but wasnt able to receive a beta key for icbt. But from my experience, there were many quest options. Aside from the linear main quest, there were also field quesst which you can find and repeatable. I heard field quest is hidden after the kcbt 3 launch. Maybe field quest is hidden here as well?

I think there should be a level requirement for the linear main quest then. Because it’s too easy to move from one quest to another. This’ll encourage players to consider other options for leveling and other sub quests that don’t follow linearity.
