Thanks in advance to those who help instead of troll.
Iv gotten different answers regarding some of my concerns and its confusing. So regarding merchants:
eg squire: people say they can repair their own stuff, how about repairing team stuff? For example i open my squire shop then i login my other char and visit my own squire for repairs?
apparently i can open shop and login a different character right? But can i totally close ToS for it to stay open?
are merchant classes really worth the effort at all, such as squire alchemist pardoner etc. there are so many competitors and server is declining in numbers, can it really earn any silver? Least i can do is repair my own teams items but that depends on answer to no.1.
You can, you will see your own char shop there, it works for all crafting classes that can setup shops.
Yes, it will stay there till maintenance or till you close the shop by login in it again to close it.
It is situational imo, i try to avoid crowded areas, try to setup a fair pricing and just wait, not everyone will check each and every shop to see which is 1 silver cheaper than the other and in ToS, more competition in a channel means less profit for all, unless someone already have a good client base.
One thing you must know, that many people dont know. Any classes that can open stall, squire repair, squire weapon buff, pardoner buff shop, enchanter, gem roasting and others… these shops does not earn 100%, every 50% of the payment will goes to system tax.
Lets say, you repair total price is 5k per once. Someone go to your shop and repair, 2.5k will gone for system tax, 2.5k will get into your pocket. Your profit will be “payment - 50% tax - material fees”.
So even you use your other character and went to repair with your own squire, remember that 50% will goes to tax. Its not free. The only free repair is squire repair for himself (without count the material fees).
yo lord hue, thanks for clarifying… although u quited =/
anyway… in terms of worth or not, saw people say that : with the time u spend to lvl the shop to repair or sell to yourself, you could have farmed up enough silver to buy from others… and my gf is really wondering if alchemist is worth her time.
thanks for the info and advice sir. is levelling a merchant is worth in your opinion? my gf actually wants to make an alchemist but she read that people say its not worth the time making one. even if she can craft her own potions, she could have used the time used for leveling this alchemist to farm on a different char instead and gain silver to buy from others
If its her first char i don’t recommend, it is better do something else like a support wiz or preferable a cleric class (in this case doesn’t matter if it is a support or offensive class) that will led you to expend less in pots, and i mean both pots, she can make a pardoner if she wants tho, out of being a buff char she can sell it too, and if she decides she can go Inquisitor at R8 for more dps, i am doing one right now.
I have an alch, but it is only C1 so for me it is not worth, well, i make SP pots for my alts in a sense, but that char will go to the bin as soon i take all the stuff i want from it and i will remake one, i started one 2 weeks ago and stopped at Ele Wiz C3 > C2, i am seriously inclined to change it to DPS instead of Alch and restart a new one, but after some info on Homunculus, i decided to postpone that to other time if they change that BS of 14 days life time of the Homunculus.
I have a Chrono C3 Linker C2 Enchanter, so far i only got the enchant armor skill to setup a shop, i need more 5 SPs for scroll crafting to see how is the costs. At current level, i doubt the Enchanter is even worth the effort in taking, but maybe later on with other Ranks coming it start to shine.
I don’t have a Squire yet, so i can’t say about that class.
As @haukinyau1 pointed out, farming silver while leveling or grinding is the way to go, and as i said above, the cleric class is the best one at it due to have self healing from the beginning of its journey, barely need SP pot, unless you enter in a heated battle like WBs, but even so, cleric SP recover seem to be faster than other classes.
In my case is the long run plan, even tho i feel bored playing the game, I am the type to try out all the stuff the game has to offer (even tho its so few now lol). Also a small income is better than none at all.
Kits are 80 silver per. If you set to 160 per kit, you will break even. I set to 190 per kit and make 15 silver per kit. And then you have to compete with the 0 profit shops.
2500 repair kits typically last me 1 week in the merc post on channel 4. Not very busy but thats fine. I am able to use my own squire for repairs so I don’t have to leave the merc post.
What you cannot do however, is have 2 offline shops open at the same time. If I open up a squire shop, I cant open up a spell shop and have both open at the same time.(While offline) Either this is bug or intended, idk, but it is what it is.
