Questions about the current state of the game

After all my ranting during the pre-release 1 month game time about all the issues the game was having along with all their cash grabbing strategies with their ridiculous restrictions locked behind tokens among other things.

Its been 6 months and I’ve come back to look and see if the game is worth coming back to yet, so here are the questions:

  1. Is trading with other players without restriction a thing yet? (not locked behind tokens or limited without a token)

  2. Can you exchange items and silver with other characters on your account yet without a token?

  3. Is the market still restricted for non-token users?

  4. If the restrictions have not been lifted, are there still botters? Beause that was the point of these trading restrictions, botting, right? Not for cash grabbing (which bots would just buy tokens anyway)?

  5. Has the monster spawn rate increased, preferably to the point that it was in the closed beta last christmas? Finding monsters for quests was a near impossibility back in May and you spent more time running around to find mobs than actually killing mobs for exp. Makes it kinda hard to grind in a grind heavy game.

  6. Has itemization improved at all, or is it still Arde Dagger and nothing else? The game’s item system before was rather lackluster. A few items were too powerful for their level (and levels beyond) and were must have on almost every class and the other 98% of items were useless. Items like Gladiator Bands are incredibly overpowered for their level, and have no replacements even 200+ levels down the line.

  7. Are skills still pretty much flat damage and nothing more? Kinda silly when a skill can do 5000 damage, but your Weapon and Strength only really adds a little bit to your damage compared to the skill itself, to the point that you don’t need stats like strength at all.

The game is more about which skills can multihit rather than deal damage as multihit skills benefit the most from additional damage sources like Arde Dagger or stats like STR or INT. The game could really use some % based skills rather than these flat values.

  1. Do stats still poorly affect a character? Along with 6, people could just build things like all DEX or CON and still do well because skills high amounts of base damage and stats like STR or INT did not scale damage enough to to matter, since things like Weapon Attack or Magical Attack are just flat additive values. Has any of this been balanced?

I doubt the last two questions would really ever change, but still would be nice to see.

That’s all I can really think about at the moment. I’m sure there are other things like lag, bugs, disconnects, desyncing when partying, getting stuck in areas with no channels, etc.

My friends have all lost interest in this game due to the restrictions, and I had high hopes for this game prior to release, but the way IMC handled the game really makes me not want to support them. It killed my friends’ interests and mine still lingers in the hopes that things get better, but I haven’t played the game since the one month pre-release because of how poorly the game was heading due to how unfriendly it was to players and its “token” scam with the guise of “this will help deter bots” which wasn’t and could never be true.

Has IMC changed for the better or is the game still on this dark road?

That sure doesn’t sound good.

Reading other topics, I’m still seeing slew of problems from the low spawn rates along with single channels in many places making questing impossible, bots still run rampant and if there’s ever a bug fixed, two more take its place.

Also seeing that higher tiered content has a difficulty spike that isn’t balanced.at all, and considering how this game scales mostly linearly, stats like defense cannot mitigate damage at all, and with the defense spike of enemies, classes that deal damage based on multiple hits are now getting shafted at higher levels because each tick of their skills is doing incredibly low amounts of damage in relation to their inflated hp values.

It doesn’t look like a good time to come back to this game yet, if ever. At the rate things are going, this game will need to shutdown and a second revision released a few years down the line with the project starting from scratch. It would be better than trying to fix the current trainwreck, especially when the client is not optimized and would need to be reprogrammed entirely.

The game’s mechanics would also need to be revamped. The “linear” scaling is incredibly poor. Stats like STR, INT and SPR have little purpose. When DEX can grant you critical hits which actually scale (by 50%) along with skills that deal high base damage (into the thousands now with rank 8 jobs), you’ll get more damage having a perfect crit rate than with STR. A base of 5000 damage critting every hit would be 7500 damage (you can get Crit Damage bonuses from gear). Having no DEX and having a good 500 STR would only get you the flat 5000 + 500 damage.(you would not be able to get enough Crit Chance on gear to make up for not having all that dex to make your Crit Attack from STR useful).

Int users are shafted since INT only raises Spell Damage by minute values and don’t have crit scaling. Instead they have a lot of hits which is then negated by enemies with high magic defense.

SPR gets you a magic defense every 5 SPR i believe, so you’re not going to protect yourself from spell damage at all. Having a higher life pool through CON is the only way to stay alive here.

The whole “you get more stats the more points you put into the same stat” is also really faulty, as you’ll not want to spare points to raise more than a stat or two (DEX/CON or INT/CON, and in a few cases, SPR/CON).

I’m just very disappointed that a game I had anticipated is going so wrongly.
