Questions about Sadhu

Hi,

I never had a cleric class before, and I got curious about sadhu. I have some questions regarding this class:

  1. How is the basic attack of spirit calculated?
  2. Does attack speed or crit affect its basic attack?
  3. I understand that the spirit comes back when you receive damage. Does using any invulnerability or blocking spell protect you from your spirit coming back? (example: golden bell shield, dark sight, sterea trofh)
  4. How bout barrier? does it help protecting your “body”?
  5. Is the spirit affected by extra lines of elemental attack? (ie sacrament, enchant fire, etc)
  1. your matk * skill modifier (129% afairc)*enhancement-attribute boost

  2. it should do, I can’t test it anymore currently, though. About the crit part, it only affects dagger autoattacks during OOB (no idea how the damage is calculated for that, it looks more like a bug than a feature; attacking with dagger also doesn’t trigger the defence debuff)

  3. The spirit only comes back if you get knocked back or knocked down [ meaning that Gazing Golems card effect can prevent it], and since Safety Zone doesn’t prevent knockback/knockdown, it won’t protect you from leaving OOB involuntarily, unless the knockback/knockdown is bound to happen if damage is dealt, then and only then will Safety Zone prevent it from happening.

No idea about Golden Bell Shield, I’ve never played Monk.

  1. Barrier helps a little since it prevents normal monsters from entering, thus protecting you from melee damage. It also reduces ranged damage, thus reducing the damage you take by 30%, helping a lot since your physical defence is 0 during OOB.

  2. No. It only is affected by the additional damage boost of Transmit Prana afaik, not even Daino will trigger its attributes effect through OOB autoattacks.

Thanks a lot. this really clarified a lot of things for me.

Can you explain though how Taoist’s dark sight works? can I use that instead to protect the “body”?

I can help you with that:

If you use fade or dark sight, your spirit is also in stealth mode even if you attack.

Staying in the dark sight area make you invisible to the enemies and makes you relatively safe.

You can also use fade to deaggro enemies from your body while your spirit can still aa without breaking fade.

To complement what have been said, OOB attack is not affected by critical, since it’s magic damage, and works like any other type of magic damage ability.

And overall attacking in spirit form is pretty weak. It’s not even considered auto attack, so you can’t get additional lines of damage like Chaplain and Enchanter. it’s more like a magic damage skill with bad scaling where the damage is split in 3 fake lines. And to make it even worse, OOB does not increase your aoe ratio and hitbox is still narrow.

People go Sadhu for Transmit Prana, Possession and Astral Body Explosion. OOB is never used as a source of damage currently.

It would be more cool if the spirit could walk through everything…

Never seen a more grownded soul :expressionless:

Then again my psychic power to swap with an enemy cant pass through a small rock ether…

I can now see why I don’t find a lot of Sadhus XD. Thanks for all the info.

Be happy, It used to be worse :+1:

@DrRM I have a question related to sadhu, my main is cleric2/bokor/sadhu3/pd3 and I get made fun of alot on forum saying that my build is bad. Can anyone tell me why? My goal is for a good hybrid AOE dps. Thanks

It isn’t a bad build at all. The Sadhu-PD builds have 3 different paths at R3: Bokor for more DPS, Diev 1 for a longer Transmit Prana, Cleric 3 for extreme Heal bombing.
So maybe it’s related to your skills or your gear ?

@peonage_parisi
I guess it depends on the server :o Sadhus are pretty popular I think. I see more Sadhus than Monks, Kabbas or Druids, for example (and definitely more than Oracles or Pardoners).
There used to be 1-3 per server~
But OOB isn’t viable anymore. In CBT it was “too good” (good damages and fast attack speed) so they nerfed it so much they made it absolutely not viable. Sadly OOB is only for when you’re lazy farming low mobs or finishing something.

One word…

META

For some people, if the builds doent follows X path it might as well not exist :expressionless:

Wouldn’t rule out stupidity either tbh.

There’s a lot of bad info going around, and I do try to nip most of it in the bud but there’s just no end to it…
:tired:

The real issue is that in game ITOS does not give a s hit about updating mechanics and the exact effect and scaling (ratio multiplier) with true multihits and fake multithits of every skill etc either.
It’s hard to see a lazier company.
