Questions about Awakening

A few questions about item awakenings from the alchemist skill

Do I need any materials for the awakening? (Not counting whatever I choose to pay the alchemist with)
How hard is the awakening and does it scale with how many awakenings for the weapon have already been done? (I’m aware that there is more waves depending on the item quality)
If I was to awaken my item and then use an anvil on it and it was to fail, would I lose the awakening?
Does the premium awakening stone just make it so I don’t lose 1 potential when I complete or fail the awakening?

How hard is the awakening

It’ boring, honestly. Just get your char to the item level (may not be needed after lvl penalty changes).

No.

Also high lvl items give high lvl mobs.

No.

Yes.

Hey, I’ve talked to the alchemist master but I’m unable to purchase anything from him. Any idea as to why or can only alchemists purchase Calcite? (I have finished both the miners village and crystal mine quest line)

You need someone that is an alchemist to awaken your items for you. They have to be in your party and you request to open item dungeon (right clicking their class icon in party list). Or you can do the awakening yourself by becoming an alchemist, but usually people don’t use their own alchemist for awakening solo.

The alchemist is the one that has to have the calcite for awakening.
