Question regarding character and pet lvl gap

Since IMC is now answering questions, I would like to ask one regarding characters and pets, hopefully getting some answers back.

As one of the very few hunters still sticking with the class, I have come to realize that it is not the bugs nor the bad AIs keeping me from having fun with the class, but rather, it’s the unavoidable level gap between my character and my pet.

Long story short, I simply cannot do my job if my pet dies to anything, everything, instantly, repeating, and unavoidable because what he’s chewing is 10 lvl higher than him.

So, here’s my question:
Are you planning to do anything about the leveling gap between characters and pets?

Companions level fast, but only gains xp when you gain xp from kills.

  • Companions training should not be ignored, but you dont have to spend a fortune there neither.

I am quest-grinding player, so the gap is bound to happen on me.

As for the training, it hardly matters because mobs deal huge bonus damage to things far under their level.

I’m guessing you haven’t been to level 150+ yet. There’s moments where you can’t only do quests and forced to do monster grinding.

start a new character, transfer pet to new character. level up and pet goes with you.

I have a level 209 companion that I share with my 212 main and a 150+ alt. The level gap isn’t that large. If I kept using it just w/ my main it’d be around 10 levels or less below me still. Level gap is not an issue.

There’s a reason why companions are trainable. Hunters/Falconers unfortunately have to invest into training their pets if we’re to rely on them in dealing/absorbing damage.

I guess you haven’t been 150+ either since you don’t have to grind at all until 200+

well that’s only if you pay attention to what you’re doing and don’t burn all your exp cards the moment you get them.

I’m level 210.

Not everyone plays the game the same way and there’s a lot of people who start the grind at 155ish and kill bees all day in Dina Bee Farm.
