Question on Copyright

I do live streams on YouTube of my time playing Tree of Savior. Today I received two copyright infringement notices from a group called INgrooves for the music tha plays while in the Crystal Mines.

I am just wondering if anyone knows if this is a real claim or not.

Thanks.

Thank you. Basically this means I remove the first two recordings and turn off the music from now on.

@moderators I feel like the recordings of your game should be covered by the game license for this music and the youtubers and streamers should be exempt from these claims. No?

This might be avoided in future by IMC getting in touch with the company involved. I think the last thing IMC want is to deter people from streaming/videoing the game, in particular because they paid to license screen recording as a built in feature.

It’s most likely real. Just another example of copyright abuse by record holders who want to make your video of you playing a game about them supposedly losing money on said music because it’s playing in game it was composed for in your video.

Filed a dispute. I am in agreement with @Awoooo on this that it should be covered by the game license. If I lose I will just turn the music off or play a bunch of royalty free stuff in the background while I do the videos.

… now off to figure out add-ons!

Just an update for anyone interested. In this case the dispute has come out in my favor. Thanks to everyone for their comment and support.
