I’m gonna share things I learned regarding Siauliai mission specifically as a swordsman. I’m a cata3 but I’m gonna make this applicable for any swordsman:
Golem
You can dodge his two-arm pounce attacks by jumping right as his arms are fully raised, even if you’re directly in front of him. This applies to the one where you’re warned with a red circle AOE and the other where he does it 3 times consecutively (you need to jump for each of the 3).
His single-hand punch and body roll are predictable. You should be able to avoid those unless you have connection/FPS problems.
If you’re the tank, you don’t need to stay in one place. If the rest of the party can kite from a distance, feel free to run around if needed. If there are other melees, run to the sides of the golem or run back to dodge his single-hand punch. Don’t run towards the other melees or you’ll risk them getting hit as well (this applies to all other bosses actually).
If there’s a cleric who casts safety zone, make use of it.
If you’re not the tank, make sure to turn your provoke off so you don’t accidentially pull the Golem to yourself and mess up the party setup.
##Mole
Mole’s attacks are very predictable unless there’s too many stuff on the ground that it’s hard to see where his spikes will land.
His “jump and throw spikes in a line” can simply be dodged by going to the side or behind him. Beware though about staying near as he might do some damage as he lands back on the ground.
His “spikes everywhere” initially detects player locations and will mark those spots where spikes would land after a few seconds. Take notice of his attack animation and when you see him stop and shake his body, it’s about to start. Move around but avoid the dark spot markers as sometimes random ones would appear.
His slap is pretty slow and should be avoidable by running back or to the side.
##Poata
His scream/shockwave/ripple thingy is very annoying indeed, especially since the latest updates wherein he performs 3-4 of it in row. If you’re caught inside it and won’t have time to run outside (e.g. you were attacking and is still in post-attack/skill animation lock), try jumping while going outside. This will at least make you avoid some of the ripple damage.
His punch is predictable so you should be able to avoid it by running back or to the side.
##Tree that eats and throws what he’s eating at everyone AKA final boss
PSA for all Fletchers: USE YOUR F*CKING BODKIN ARROW (“nullifies any protective magic”) TO REMOVE THE SHIELD EVERYTIME THIS BOSS CASTS IT (unless you don’t have Bodkin for whatever reason).
Tree’s “clap causing shockwave in a line” and “slap both hands on the ground”, while quite a fast animation is still avoidable unless you’re animation-locked in post-attack/skill.
What’s really annoying is when he starts throwing sh*t around. I notice that he pre-targets player positions right before he throws stuff so you need to time your evasive maneuvers right. Don’t stick together or you’ll risk getting damaged by two or more of those stuff and be OHKO’ed.
Scout can use barrel. Clerics can use defensive skills. Block and dodge will work. Not sure about pavise but I think it works too.
