ok so my class build is sword 1 pelt 1 hop 1 cata 3 dragoon. stats are 5 str 3 dex 2 con and i got crit rate gems and working on sissel bracers. so crit is very good. now for my question brandish and karacha dagger or catacombs pike for dps ? for pve and pvp i spoze . thanks for the info folks 
There is no such thing as a DPS Cata.
well i dont know about that… i spoze i should have said a dps question for cata… that being said i love my cata and all the QQ i dont get… i taunt everything and murder it with aoe and move on its easy and hella fun
Dragoons have 2hand spear mastery, that should outweigh 1hand + dagger I guess.
The honeymoon phase is only until level 200.
Once you hit 220, 240 up, you will feel pain. No amount of gear, attributes or play-style can make you a DPS Cata. It is sadly the reality right now.
Make sure you are playing this class out of love for this class. Your damage will be useless at higher levels. If you are aiming to contribute meaningful DPS at the endgame, change your class now.
If you really love this class, then fight on and enjoy it.

PS: In my experience, top tier 2H spears will out-damage 1h spear+daggers. Personally I recommend, only two spears. Lydeka at 75, +8 Lydeka at 120, Catacombs pike at 170.
