Swordsman-Peltasta-Hoplite-Hoplite-Hoplite-Doppelsoeldner is one of the build you are looking for.
It has very high damage output against boss and capability to mob the entire map without taking too much damage. You will use 1 hand spear + shield as your weapons, use STR > DEX build, use leather armor set and upgrade leather armor mastery for evasion, attach critical attack gem to your equipments.
Erokhi’s build is pretty good.
Alternatively you could build:
Paltasta then Highlander c3 or Barb c3 into Fencer.
Either or, your going to be pretty much the best tank in the game.
You can either go Barb for mobbing effectively with 2 provokes, and AOEs.
Or highlander for great bossing and decent at mobbing but lacks AOE skills to mob effectively
cleric > preist C3 > monk C2 > plauge doctor C1
decent damage, cheap as heck (no hp or sp pots needed), extremely easy to level, very safe, you have heals and shields
grab a cafrisun set (lvl 15) and get weapons your level and your good to go from 15-130
you can also pick up an arde dagger along the way for crazy levelling speeds, your mostly gonna just auto attack stuff to death, building for str and dex, prioritize on maxing out the damage attribute from priests blessing
once your monk you gonna be double punching stuff to death, and stam pills are far cheaper than pots in terms of effectiveness
once you hit plauge you get cc immunity and insane regen, it synergizes with monk to spread its debuffs and you get a strong nuke out of it too.
Any dps cleric build.
You can’t beat healing yourself + safety zone for high survivability. You won’t die unless you get 1-shot (which CON solves), and both physical dps path and magic dps path do very good damage in their own right.
On top of that INT Cleric builds are one of the top-tier classes in regards to boss killing.
Try read the Sadhu thread (warn you, it is a 1000+ thread).
Sadhu remove all his defense though, so it is a little tricky to play.
I played a Sadhu myself. Bosses usually have big damage, infrequent attacks. Since Safety Zone is hit count based, you can sit behind it most of the time and spam AA + spells.
It’s even easier if you’re in a group/world bossing where the boss doesn’t even come after you most of the time.
Sadhu is not great vs large groups, but that’s the trade off.
I think the problem is, the buffs is not cast from the OOB. They should have Deprotected, Zalciai, and etc. cast in front of the OOB, and now, you have a remote buffer instead of a damage dealer in a large group. This allows you to adjust your role between support and DPS.
I can attest to the Peltasta > Barb C3 > Fencer route. It’s actually VERY tanky due to Pelt C1 having quite large bonuses on skill usage. Free HP and Evasion is nothing to scoff at survivability wise, and you start doing some nice damage and Barb. With things like Seism and Frenzy keeping your damage high and healthy, you become a pseudo raid boss capable of both mobbing and dealing damage but not both at the same time. However, sadly, Fencers are both a blessing and a curse: Great single target and even more evasion but Rapiers have very frail durability.
Personally I like Dex > Str > Spr focusing, Spirit for better regen and overall effectiveness, but one could max stack Dex and Strength anyway since they’re vital.
@chillcross
Don’t forget that fencer can block even when not using a shield.
And lunge makes cleave and seism deal double dmg.
However you don’t need SPR you could get mana regen gloves because you really don’t need accuracy gloves with all that Dex you have as a fencer.
You can literally 2:1 Dex and STR and be god like.
Just get more crit dmg and your golden~
but yes rapier durability is trash…
If you could work a squire into this build you it would be AMAZING!!!
I typically carry 2 rappers though.
One for trash mobs
And one for bossing
Makes things a tad easier
Lastly though, I feel that fencer favors warcry over frenzy.
Fencer is a skill spammer, and using auto attacks to build frenzy is not sufficient for fencer.
Your better off with warcry.
You deal enough dmg as is to not really need Frenzy anyway.
Not to mention that auto attacks kill durability…
(or it feels like they do…)
