Question about trading/economy

Me and my friends are about to start ToS upon launch and was wondering if the rumors of having trade restrictions in game is true as well as limits on how many times i switch items between my own characters unless I shell out cash?

I normally run merchant characters (PureForger in RO as an example) so this kinda bites hard for my playstyle since I need alts to farm materials for me can anyone clarify?

Thanks.

if you want to play ToS, you will need to learn to do research so you don’t screw up your build.
now would be a great time to start.

also, there is no “merchant” specifically, but each tree has at least 1 job that has some sort of “sales” function.

Pardoner (Cleric, sells buffs)
Alchemist (Wizard, upgrades gems, makes potions)
Squire (Swordie, repairs armor, buffs weapons)
etc…

Thanks but what about trade restrictions. Can I transfers stuff between my characters and trade with my friends without a paywall?

Trade system is ridiculous now :S

new accounts have a 3 day restriction on all trades.
–you are supposed to be able to purchase via the marketplace, but there was [is?] a bug that new players cannot buy either.

silver is untradeable. the end. silver only moves via the marketplace.

the marketplace is available to everyone.
–token users can list 10 items at a time, non-token can list 1 item.
–token users pay a 10% sales fee, non-token pay a 30% fee.
–all users pay a listing fee (1~2.5%, depending on the length of the listing)
–after the sale, silver is held for 48 hours.

Team Storage requires the use of a token.
–tokens are premium items and are purchased through the TP shop. HOWEVER! tokens can be (and are) sold through the marketplace for silver, thus you don’t need to spend money for it.

player to player trade (commonly called “1:1 trade”) is available to everyone.
–token users have a limited number of trades (30 trades per token used). completed trades cost the user 1 trade.
–non-token users (and token users that have used up all their trades) have unlimited trades, but after completing the trade, the item becomes untradeable.

gear has a number of Potential, basic items and mats have 1 potential. potential is used up in trades (including purchases from the marketplace), as well as other actions like adding sockets or failing an upgrade attempt. when potential is used up, items are untradeable, and failing an upgrade with a normal anvil will destroy the item.
–quest rewards, and some unusual mats/items are usually untradeable, regardless of the potential remaining on the item.

…i think that covers it.
