Question about the ranking feature

Hello,

There’s somthing i dont really understand here,
What is the point of the ranking system from the Adventure Journal?
I want to make clear that this is not any sort of complaints by any means at all, just curiosity.

I’d understand if it were some kind of pvp ladder ranking, but this is somthing everyone can be equal on.

Theoretically, what would happen if 500 players reached the same score in the Adventure Journal?
Would all of them be rank 1?

Everyone will reach the max score here eventually, so dosen’t that mean everyone will get on the same score aswell?
If it were a pvp ladder, it’d change by time as people climbing over eachother.
But there is a limit here, a certain score will be given when you finished your journal to a 100%

So is this a competition up to that point?

And of course i’m not saying everyone on the entire server will reach 100% in the adventure journal.
I’m saying theoretically, its possible.

You know about WoW achievement points/ XBox achievement points/ PS Trophies/ you name it?
Thats the same, everyone could reach an equal point, but only few attempt to reach the limit, so in this sense its like a competition.

Alrighty
Thanks

The maximum score increases as more content is added to the game. That said, the current maximum is far out of reach of anyone, as it requires spending possibly billions of silver.

It’s different in WoW, since there’s a fixed limit on the amount of achievements/points, whereas here there isn’t one.

Hah, that’s a rather fitting metaphore.

I’m not sure if it’s even theoretically possible to 100% the journal.

If anything, I don’t think there’s enough items ingame for that.

There is a percentage counter, which means there has to be a limit.

Okay so the ranking and Journal completion are two different things,
Since you can reach more than the other by farming more mobs.

Let me rephrase the question, is it possible to reach 100%, and by that i mean completing everything there is to complete in the game, eventually, and don’t add difficulties, that’s irrelevant here.
It’s a matter of possibilities and impossibilities.

How do you know?
We live on a mote of dust, we create more than there is.
We don’t even know where we are, and what we are.
With our brain capacity, we will never be close to understand the universe.

They are the same. Farming more monsters of the same time won’t add points or completion. Adding new monsters does add both.

Sometimes quest rewards have you choose between unique items. You can only obtain one of those.

As far as pure maximum points goes:

Spending billions is possible.

But i guess it really becomes impossible from the fact that they added the unique quest rewards in there aswell.

Alrighty then, that answers it.

Thank you!

All of the things you list are the parts of the Ranking… all of them combined = ranking. Everything that is added to the journal gives points to your ranking score.

Thanks, will do! :stuck_out_tongue:

One thing i’ll never understand is why they even added a Acquistion
Rate to begin with, if it’s impossible to obtain a 100% of it.

It’d be a whole other story if that was account wide, which makes it
possible to obtain each unique quest rewards with different characters,
but since its bound to one.
I really dont get it, as for a
completionist this is quite annoying since we value and care about
things that might are minor to others.

The end result here will be this, once youre 280, and found
everything thats possible to find by 1 character, you will end up with
85%

That makes no sense :s

But theres 1 positive thing out of this anyway, and that is that it’s equal to everyone. Everyone can only obtain 1 of the choices and therefore it makes no different what you pick in score-wise.

Any Rokas armor gives 30 score etc.

So in other words, no one can reach more than the other on these categories in the main panel, when you found every item in the game that is possible for 1 character, you’ll have a fixed Level/Score in “Item”

I’m not 100% about that, as I will have to test it. % might be based on amount of entries, but it also be directly linked to score. If it’s linked to score simply obtaining all entries won’t be enough, as enhancing items also gives score points.

The highest item in my journal is only +10 so I don’t know if it’s capped at that (x4 the base score), or if it has no limit.

  • 10 items are listed as having 100% score for that entry, which is the same % value that materials give (1 point, 100% score), so it does seem likely + 10 gives the maximum score for an equipment item.

In fewer words: Enhancing up to + 10 increases an items score.

Edit: Just tested it. Enhancing items adds to the % of completion in the item category.

Ahh, ok.
Thanks for checking it out
