Anyone have some input if Rod C2 damage would be insufficient for a Murmillo pvp build when compared to what you can gain from a different circle to replace it?

I understand the 200-300% damage modifiers from Cassis Crista , but I haven’t built a shield swordsman before so I’m not sure if going C2 vs C3 would be too underwhelming damage wise.

Ideally, would be SwrdC1->PeltC2->RodC2->CorsairC1->Shinobi->Murmillo.

Why max Slithering? Duration doesn’t increase with skill lvls and damage is pretty bad itself…

iif you’re talking in a pvp scenario why would you take peltasta?, the only explanation that came to my mind would be high con (25% more blockrate?), but you get that one at c1, peltasta 2 don’t offer nothing special… high guard is kind of meh skill, even with that “op” (aka noob trap) from umbo and rim blow dmg increase, still rode 3 is mandatory (at least for me) in any murmillo build, shooting star is a 5 hit strike skill wich get increased by a lot, but most of all high kick is another 100% strike dmg increase in a low cd form, that bind targets, neting you a total of 300% of strike dmg increase only on rode3 and murmillo skills (slithering, high kick and head butt) still… if you wanna do some serius pvp with a murmillo build you should remove shinobi and peltasta from there, and going sword3-rode3-cor-murmillo.
regarding shinobi, is a dps burst variation of murmillo, dunno if the clones hit are increased by the murmillo passive, still does great dmg, but at the end of the day, head butt and scutum can do some insane dmg with those 200% extra that came from rode3.
Clones dont benefit from helmet or high guard umbo/rim combo
Ty very much for well worded replies. I was thinking Pelt 2 because I see so much TBL footage (recent) of people getting sniped for 1/2 or 3/4 of their full HP. Kind of an " OH SH#T" button vs melee. But you’re right about Pelt 2 not having much in general to offer besides that.

I currently have a SW3 Shinobi build around 265, I love restain but its so easy to shut down with any class with lvl 1 debuff-resist on their team. extra +10 seconds on pain barrier would be nice though…

If I went shinobi, I wouldn’t be using clones for pvp. Basically would just be to take advantage of Mokutons teleport+trap enemy in place, and Katon+Mijin for their 8 second invisibility, and Ninja Walk when it gets fixed for +speed and -Stamina Drain.

Baadaq’s reply breaking down what I would be losing damage wise hits hard though, sounds like what I planned on making would just be something that doesn’t die but can’t kill.
Was the shinobi: ninja walk fixed already?
