Question about Finestra

Hi everybody !

Some questions about Finestra : Im currently Swordman -> Pelta c1 -> Hoplite c2 and wondering :

  • Does finestra works with two handed spear ? If yes, do you still have the block % from finestra ? (guess yep but wanna be sure :stuck_out_tongue: )
  • Does the shield offers a natural % of blocking attack ? Or is it just adding some defense ? (without speaking of the attributes that added some block %, and guard etc)
  • Is it worth to go hoplite c3 for Finestra lvl 15 ?
  • Is it worth to invest some money on shield attributes or does high level player better play with two hand spear and no shield yolo ?

No

Shield actually offers a block multiplier. Without shield your block multiplier = 0 (hence your total block = 0 as well). Most shield offers 1.0 block multiplier (hence block = CON) but of course there are exceptions, like these

Aias = 2.0 block multiplier

Wall guard = 3.0 block multiplier (I don’t know where to find this item)

Not vital, but highly recommended, you get a range CC (from throwing spear) and of course +50 crit rate is nice too

If you go solo, shield is a better choice at high level (more def + block = less pot and sitting). If you have a party then arde dagger is the way to go.

Correct me if Im wrong :

  • you told me that with two handed spear, finestra’s % block do not work because in fact, without shield, block multiplier is 0.
  • so without shield (epic math inc) : 0 (block multiplier) + (0*30% block from finestra) = 0 of total block ? So it doesnt matter if I play spear/dagger or two handed spear, block % from finestra will not work as long as i do not equip a shield ?

Yes, you will not have any Block in both cases.

But be aware a 1H spear + elemental damages from elemental dagger will be really différent than 2H spear.

Elemental damages stacks with some skills on each hit, but some skills don’t care of it
Elemental damages don’t crit

2H spear got more range and got some boost from 2H spear class (+40% Block Pen from cata, +some few % damages against large monstres/boss from dragoon)

1H spear and 2H spear don’t Share same bonus at same lvl (dex vs str for example)

I guess i’ll try the dammage output by myself and try both playstyles then will go to the one that suits me the most (bc I assume both are viable!)
