How soon do I get the mount after going Cata? Also do mounts have equipment or levels?
mounts are first companions so the question is how soon can you save up to buy a companion, cheapest would be 110k, if you bought early pass 1 then you saved 453.6k, they do have equipments, levels, and stats, and they affect your stats when mounted like HP, DEF, and Evasion

any class can buy a “companion” or a pet, they will help you in combat, but only a select number of classes can ride their companions, this is called “mounting”
You’ll get free pet right after you change to cata.
i forgot about that, yup, you’ll get a free pet voucher for the cheapest pet which is the Velheider, i believe Velheiders have the highest CON among the pets so you can get more HP with the mount bonus
dude u get a mount when u become cata/shw, u get a falcon when u become falconer, and u get a pet when u become hunter
to mount u only need to learn the attribute

i’m assuming you want a comparison with Velheider and Hoglan:
this is just a rough calculation from tos-mechanics by vyne1
the difference of the bonus HP would only be about a measly 124 HP in favor of Velheider while the difference of the bonus EVASION would be about 2.3 in favor of Hoglan
i simply applied his formula with lvl200 and 1 sublevel
it’s not that much, i guess you would choose a companion based on looks first rather than stats, but it could change if you upgrade your pet’s stat with silver
can Cataphract mounting and using sword, shield or 2hand sword skill and auto attack???
cataphract can use w/e weapon they want on a mount. Blocking and auto attacking can be freely done.
But
Cataphract attack skills require a spear equipped.
Some other classes attack skills will dismount you. (speed buff is gone and you need to recast it after mounting, but the buff has a long CD)
When you become cata, you earn a Velheider Ticket, imo it is wise wait for it.

what level is your pet? and how much hp you increase?
Mine is 200+ and to upgrade its stats, you need to go to the pet npc and select upgrade pet or something like that but its too expensive.
