Do we really need them? I mean, they were very necessary back then… but now are they still worth using?
Some of them, yeah, others became useless because the game updated the features to something similar to what the addon was supposed to do, like the collection addon, no longer needed because they revamped the collection interface on their own now.
I still use stuff like exp cards calculator, mobs info, items info, exploration and had to remove some because they got broken due to updates to what they were supposed to do.

Some of them, like Monster hunting, were kinda replaced by ingame features. But some like map treasure and map fog are still very useful (imho). Anyway, one that maybe everyone should use, and somehow IMC must make vanilla is Monster frames.

Where can I get these
I don’t use any addons, so you can survive without them. Some important stuff like being able to see when a channel is empty got added to the base game. They should add exact monster HP to the game, too, though.
