[QUEST] The Immortal Nepenthes

Date and Time : 21.05.2015 1 PM CET

Game Control Mode (Keyboard/Joypad/Mouse) : Mouse

Where it happened (which map, which quest, which npc, etc) : Tenet Garden

Bug Description : Secont part of Quest The Immortal Nepenthes includes waking up a boss, lowering his health to certain level and then, when he is stunned, collecting something needed to finish the quest.
Now when you play on mouse control, one button (Left mouse button) is responsible for attacking the mob and, in theory, collecting the thing. And you cannot collect a thing, while on Mouse control. You end up kiling the mob until 100 HP and it doesnt die, but you cannot collect anything either.
Solution to this problem is switching to keyboard control, which allows you to collect something with spacebar.
(letting us know what you were doing before, during, and after the bug happened will help us a lot)

Steps to reproduce the issue :

  1. Take the Immortal Nepenthes quest from Watcher Erra at Tenet Garden
  2. Pass the first part of the quest and go to the second one
  3. Light the fire at the Boss (You need to have Mouse control)
  4. Attack the monster until his health has passed about a quarter and he becomes stunned. (At this point you should collect, but you can’t)

(haven’t taken any, sorry.)

Have you tried press space bar as it says when you get close to the boss? It should work in any control mode, at least here for me (controller) it appear independent of my control mode.

In mouse mode you can’t start a NPC interaction with space bar, only by left clicking it (which doesn’t work in this quest as it was mentioned). I had the same problem and I was forced to look for videos on this quest to see how people completed it. So like he did, I had to figure out that changing to keyboard was the solution.
Currently, there are too many quests that functions satisfatorily only with keyboard mode, and that’s why I keep changing between modes all the time.

Using space bar on mouse mode will make your character jump on default. Although you can use it to skip conversation while talking to any npc.
