Quest backspace warp disconnects from server

I don’t understand how you managed to break BASIC functionality in this patch. Like, the 3rd thing you teach players in the tutorial is no longer working. What the hell?

It happens on every single character on my account who saved a quest warp in Klaipeda.

Mine works fine too… I just accidentally teleported myself (ugh) and nothing happened.

What’s the name of the quest warp?

I’m using “Worship for the Blessing” - it works fine.
I tested another character as well with “The Great Problem-Solver (1)” - it works fine.

Did you try verifying the files on steam?

And I don’t understand how you manage to be that angry about a problem that only happens to you without doing the basic steps of verifying games files on steam first :x


P.S.: I don’t see the quest warp on your character. Are you by chance getting disconnected while using someone’s else warp on the Party Quest list or by using your own warp?

Does the same happens if you’re not in a party with 5 members?

Yes, worshop for the blessing was the quest.

I did saalus on 6 of my characters. For 3 of them I signed on, pressed backspace wandered around for a while as I displayed and then was DC’d.

Then i recorded the video and stopped using the backspace because it obviously was broken. I have not tried it again or played the game since.

They did something to break pets as well. When I logged onto my SR i kept getting dismounted and being unable to mount up again. You ever tried playing SR without being able to mount your pet? It’s absolutely terrible.

There is no excuse for breaking core functionality like this.

Edit: Forgot to mention that castle saalus breaks now sometimes. Used all the dice and my party had to abandon ship because there were none left and the scorpion wouldn’t spawn. 15 minutes wasted to get nothing. Now every time I roll a castle saalus I get to wonder whether it will be another 15 minutes of wasted time with nothing to show for it, which is a great feeling.

Pets, quests warps, castle saalus were not mentioned at all in the patch notes and yet they all somehow ended up broken. It is absolutely flabbergasting.

The bug is that you’re mounted while swapping maps and somehow you stay mounted but the pet doesn’t spawn. Not sure on the details.

You have a decent workaround for when the problem is entering ET or Dungeons, dismount before entering the map, load into the map, mount again.

It might be related to companion fixes or something.

For example, if you were SR -> BM you could abuse the Sled to mount during Bloody Overdrive to save time. Now you need to wait the animation like with any pet.

Maybe it’s actually a race condition only exposed here, due to players having higher ping and load times compared to korean versions.

This only happens rarely and was fixed in future kToS patches, it’s on patch notes that we’ll get in the future.

I think this only happens when 2 players put the dice in a cube or something, quite rare to happen. If you check the minigame XML file for Castle it’s quite simple. But triggering these two things at the same time might cause a race condition issue where the next Stage isn’t started.

Also, about “15 minutes” on Castle, there’s a way to solve it faster. All rooms matches. Example: Say you got the dice from room with die 1 and put it on the room with die 3, you can get the die 3 and go back to die 1.

By doing this trick properly you can reduce your Castle runs by a lot, especially if you get at least a second person to help with cubes, then it’s even faster.

Another good practice is like, for example, get the die in room 1, then check room 6 then back to room 2 then 3,4,5 when checking dice x cube matching. When trying the second die, do the same, room 3, check room 4, then go back to room 2, then 1,6,5.

About this, you’re the only person with broken quest warp. Please, don’t mix the issues.

Did you already try verifying game cache files?

I did not, but the problem seems to have resolved itself. Maybe something going on server side during initial hours of being brought back online.

Probably. Since you’re in the same map you’re not reconnecting, so there’s no connection problems related.

The server was abruptly closing your connection and this happens when your client does something you shouldn’t. Can either be caused by server-side issues or client-side issues.
