Im a Pyro user. When I using Flame Ground. Flying monsters in that skill area are din’t take any damage but flying bosses does! For my opinion, it can hit both flying monsters and ground monsters instead just can hit flying bosses.
Well, bosses aren’t counted as “flying” even if they are off the ground.
but those monster dint fly to the sky right?..just their butt din’t touch the ground( like bosses )
Hmmm i dont see the point here… u can just hit the “flying” monster with fireball…its floating but it hits both…
Won’t it better if both skills can hit floating enemies? 
Because if want save someone far away. Flame ground can summon any place with your computer screen but fire ball need to move in front to monster or need summon then hit those balls(maybe will hit wrong direction). Then ur friends already… 
I am ok with current flame ground. Its said to be flame “ground”. You can always use fireball or fire pillar, else use enchant fire and hit them by yourself. Flying units normally have lower hp and easier to kill.
I just hope that flame ground can have bigger aoe… so does the fire pillar. Fire pillar is really damn weak as a circle 2 skill. 2min15s cooldown. Damage same with flame ground but does not stay that long. And the hitbox is somehow smaller than flame ground and fireball, which is sucks…

I kindda wish there will be attributes to increase the AOE cast circle…
If u think its unfair for mage… then make it slightly expensive but still i will get it…
I miss the STORM GUST moment…
Be happy that they let you hit the boss. Otherwise it wouldn’t hit anything that’s flying.
hmm…If you want logic thinking. Flame “Ground” but u forget about “flame”? Did u see those Flame ground design got some burning that facing up right? and those monster dint fly to “sky” right?
If you want to say flame “Ground” cant hit floating/ flying monster. Then how “earth” quake skill? It can hit floating/ flying monster. … 
Honestly, I think it’s fine as it is.
It could be a lot worse; Imagine being a healer early on and not being able to hit a boss with Heal.
Pyros have fireball, they have mace smacks with very low STR.
The Flame ground isn’t flame on the ground, but it looks like the earth vein with flame inside. The earth is raising above the ground, so there if you want your logic.
Also, I’m talking in gaming logic, and if you have ever played D&D (which I doubt it, since it’s only popular about 20 years ago), then it’s not something to be surprised about. The game dictate that it doesn’t hit air units, and so be it. Do you also want to change chess’ rule because you feel the Knight’s movement is stupid? No, you utilize the shortcoming of that to fit with your play style instead of asking people to change the rule. If you hate how Flame Ground is, spend your point to other skills, or better, play other’s class.
