PyroLock... oh God

What the hell happened to Pyromancer and Warlock?
I had my Wizz lying around and decided to mess with builds, but seriously, what the hell went wrong with their skills?!
SP cost through the roof, the new fireball seems lackluster at best (I loved the idea of ranged casting, tho), I didn’t even get to see spirits (do they really last 1 hit or am I missing effects files?)… it’s disgusting, where the hell is my “terrain control” mage?

I’m not saying “buff dmg herp derp”, I just want mechanics to play with; from my perspective both Warlock and Pyromancer were supposed to lay respectable magic circles and kite around them, but from what I saw you simply can’t keep up as you need to keep refreshing circles to barely deal damage and your SP takes a massive hit (you can’t even use Magic Shield, so yeah).

Am I missing something? Or they are as dead as Quarrel Shooter (my ex-main char, lol)?
Maybe some attribute, gear, card, whatever…

You answered your own question. Pyromancer is currently one of the best classes in the Wiz tree and WL is fine.

Nice, but I didn’t answer it tho.
I’m still clueless about what’s going on with SP etc.
Am I supposed to keep chugging potions? I noticed “identifiable” gear keeps dropping and are sold by 0 silver and seems almost worthless to drop on Market (there are chests giving powerful gear to low level chars), isn’t that critical to cut silver income?

I’ll keep looking for more info, I hope you aren’t referring to Pyro/Elem/Taio when you said it’s one of the best classes…

You’re spending too much SP pots because you’re lacking gear and attributes, so you need to use more skills to kill each monster. Check if you’re using your skills in the correct order to maximize your damage or try changing your build to something easier to play with poor gear then go back to your current build once you’re better geared.
Don’t forget to go fishing. You can eat fishes beside a campfire to gain a SP regen buff. Doing Uphill also helps because you get purple potions that greatly restore your SP. Those are free options to deal with SP costs at low lvls. Later in the game, you’ll use your SP more efficiently and can invest into other options: SP/SP regen awakening and hair accessories, Purple cards for increased efficiency on SP potions or SP regen when you kill monsters from certain races or sizes, etc.

That’s a build and, yeah, it’s one of the best DPS builds at the moment. You can check it in the Wizard ranking in the Bernice dungeon. Pyro/Ele/??? is the favorite combination for DPS Wizard characters on Re:Build.
