so im new to this game and i was thinking of (if i get a key or just wait for open beta test) to create a wizard, thing is i dont understand anything in the building, so i was looking on public builds and saw some that looks fun,
Easy response would be that you should go Pyro if you want more DPS skills and go Cryo if you want to CC the enemy to cast your Elemental skills since a lot if not all of them need a cast time or a really long animation time.
Wiz C3 is also fine but in reality, I think you’d have a real hard time leveling up since Wiz has had a bad record so far in skills but it synergizes with Elementalist with Surespell and Quick Cast.
Basically you’d be losing on CC with Pyro but you’d be killing stuff faster and with Cryo, you’re gaining a ton of CC but a lower DPS than Pyro. Wiz you’d be losing on both but you’d gain debuffs and self-buffs that help your later class of Elementalist.
Ele is better when going with Wiz C3 . Sleep skill and Quick cast and Sure cast is designed for Ele , I think .
Pyro is for other class in lategame but not Ele .
Cryo is for Psycho 
Both Pyro and Cyro are good but Pyro maybe better for grinding due to the high dps.
Wiz C3 is hard because you only have a few skills for dps before getting ele.

My build is:
Wiz -> Cryo -> Link -> Ele all the way
Basically I want to freeze and slow down monsters and link them(can be done vice versa) then nuke em with Elementalist skills 
Since Ele skills have long CD, the links help with obliterating everything in one single use
BTW, being Linker 1 will make parties love you more. We linkers get all the love <3

If your main goal is Ele C3 then you really have to choose Wiz C3 in my opinion they go hand in hand
Cyro is more solo and controller than Pyro.,
Pyro cause more damage… but is better you go with a pt

yeah if u wanna go Rank 3 Ele then go for the Cryo Slow->freeze and the Linker Linkage. Should work Solo pretty good.
