Pyro Linker Thauma Synergy!

I was looking for a great dps build with combo skills but atributes are a bit confuse yet.

I am still lvling my linker class lvl 10 my build is: http://www.tosbase.com/tools/skill-simulator/build/dmy2lhwy5e/

I made some tests with:

Hangman’s Knot: Additional Damage - Enemies hit by [Hangman’s Knot] will receive additional damage equal to 20% magic attack per attribute level. (i have lvl 4 atribute)

after i use hangmans knot it deals no dmg and my fireballs hit the same if i dont use HK.

and i want test the combo with Shrink Body: Additional Damage - Enemies affected by [Shrink Body] will take 20% more magical attack damage per attribute level.

do you guys think stacking both atributes will boost dmg? plus i will have boost xp and drop rate increase. the synergy with pyro 3 in this build is viable?

There are still many bugged wizard attributes, especially when they are supposed to increase the damage by either a debuff or another skill.

They should stack but again there are still many attributes that don’t work.

Wiz > Pyro > Linker > Thaumaturge looks more like a full support Wizard to me. I don’t know if the damage will be good, but in my opinion if you go Thaumaturge you really want to go Thraumaturge 3.

If I’m not wrong, Joint penalty only shares the number of hits that enemies take. Enemies linked by joint penalty take different amounts of damage depending on their stats and debuffs. That is to say, even if one enemy takes 20% more damage, the other linked enemies would not.

I might be wrong, but there are some things that prove my theory.

  • Traps in boss fights : When linking the boss and its traps, i deal 1 damage to the trap, yet the boss takes 116 dmg.

  • Element Resistance : When using fireball on fire-resistant and non-fire-resistant enemies, the fire resistant one still has half hp left, while the other dies quickly within a few hits.

It won’t be dps build if u go link and thaumaturge. That build looks hybrid or solo pyro build

Picking mage period isn’t exactly how you start a DPS build.:sweat_smile:

One circle of linker will massively increase your dps against groups.
Every tick of fireball hits 5 times? That sounds pretty good to me.

I do think that thaum is a bad choice, if you want to do pyro C3. All you really gain from thaum is swell right arm and the damage boost from shrink, which doesn’t work on bosses. Transpose and Swell Body are basically useless skills.

If you replaced that with linker C2, you could add another 3 enemies to your death-chain(60% more damage on groups), and copy buffs like Concentrate and Steady Aim from other players with spirit link. Also, longer duration of bind for more flameground value. (fixed)

You can only add 3 more since level 10 JP has max 8 links

That Hangman’s Knot Attribute only applies 20% for your magic attack as damage. Its not what you’re thinking. Look closely when you use hangman’s knot, notice it does 1 dmg initially before gathering the monsters. Not only that, sometime that damage prevents monsters from gathering correctly. It’s a terrible attribute imo.

You seem to have missed out an extra 5 on C3. C3 Joint penalty gives 15 links.
