Pyro/Linker, need advice for high rank class choice

Greeting everyone.

Here is my build

I was told that Linker can link fireball with mobs, then output impressive damage by casting Hangman’s Knot. So I decided to create a mage to go with Pyromancer and Linker. While I have no idea which class should pick for the rank 4 and higher.

Will advancing Pyromancer or Linker to C2 greatly increase my DPS?
Or should I go for Psychokino for some skills to help me stay alive?
Or Thaumaturge and Linker C2 to be a support role?

Really hope for some advice, thanks a lot.

Same build here rufess :smile:

The thing is, damage-wise:

  • Linker 2 provides Joint penalty for 8 enemies (3 more than C1) and a 10 seconds hangman’s knot (5s more than C1)
  • Pyro C2 provides Fireball 10 (145 > 234 damage + 5 hits), Flame ground 10 (106 > 171 damage) and Fire pillar 5 (12 seconds of 161 brand new damage over time, although 2 minutes cooldown)
  • Psychokino seems to have a nice synergy with Linker + Psychic pressure, but the %SP usage makes it, for me, a little bit odd considering the spammy AoE nature of Pyro. I hardly stand still to be honest. Some math would be: Fball lvl 10 = 58 sp, 234 damage x 10 hits AoE // PP lvl 5 = 31.5 sp per second (with 700 max SP), 288 damage aoe.

I think you need some quality micromanagment to avoid depleting your SP, plus I guess Cryo would synergyze a lot better than Pyro + Linker, and you have room for C3 Psycho.

Support role depends if you have a party, of course :slight_smile: I think I would go Pyro 2, full fire lord.
