PvP suggestion (discuss)

So, first I’m going to say that I know this game is PVE and PVP is just a side project for the devs (atleast I would believe so)

But what I personally would like to see is some Open world PVP. Not necessarily faction based and not one that you can activate and PK people if you feel like it (similar to Lineage 2 or Tera). Instead have a zone with open PvP to add some danger to the game.

This would give the possibility for bigger guilds to fight for late-game world bosses, have more risk/reward for acquiring rare materials, that can be gathered from the pvp zone FASTER than other zones. Also if some PvP points were added, it would keep people roaming these zones and making it more difficult for people to pass through/earn mats/grind.

Tree of Savior also has a system that would benefit open world PvP already. This system is STAMINA. Stamina would allow the victim to escape if being attacked by a warrior who started dashing from far away (thus wasting all of his STAMINA). This could be also used to add effects(for weapons/attacks) that would reduce the stamina to help the attacker.

Now this idea is pretty far-fetched and I’m not expecting it to pass immediately but it’s something I think would spice the game up and separate it from the other games PvP-wise.

Although I fancy anything that is related to PvP I’m abit bothered by this sentence of yours

I think this is a bad idea because it would lead so that the bigger guilds would always have the upperhand in both on the economy and on the area itself.

It would also most likely force smaller guilds into unwanted alliances and or make them disband in order take part of and compete with the bigger guilds.

This game have had a rocky start to say the least, and if my assumptions are correct it is far from over.

The LAST thing this game needs is, giving people the opportunity for exclusive monopoly over the content in this game.

I see what you mean but don’t you think that bigger guilds already have the monopoly by having the possibility to do multiple worldbosses simultaneously by occupying multiple channels at once.

Also it has always been that the bigger guilds have the upper hand in any mmo with any kind of competitive content (EVE Is a great example) Also smaller guilds wouldn’t be forced to do this pvp nonsense or unwanted alliances since they could just do some other place for the resources (like I said the pvp zone was to get mats faster and so should the boss be too)

This would just place bigger guilds in different place than the smaller guilds so there wouldn’t be competition between these two but instead between guilds that are the same size.

i guess you haven’t played anything but sword classes. Only sword classes can use stamina for dashing. Other archetypes dont have it at all so there is no escaping. Unfair advantage i’d say.

Ranged classes have range and ranged CC. I wasn’t saying that the system was perfect, of course there has to be some balancing.

Also if they added some kind of stamina reducing effect it would balance it a little bit.

Last time i dueled with Cataphract that had spear +10 range… he had same range as my archer with bow and more range than same archer with arbalest, plus he was faster because of mount. I can see some balance in organized group pvp (group arenas, GvG) but there is none and never will be for open world/random pvp/one on one scenarios.

They might already have some monopoly over the endgame content, I do not know, nobody knows since were not there yet - but why make it worse?

No, it has not always been like that, I do not know what kind of MMO background you have but from my own experience that is not always the case.

And just because some other MMO with the brainless zerg mentality have it, doesn’t make it a good or something to be followed.

I am sorry but I still think this is a bad idea.

Sure I guess you can’t make a PVE game into a PvP game just like that :l
