PvP Let's talk!

#With the Korean CBT3 includes the PvP feature.

I’ll assume currently there will be not balances yet for PvP stats so some classes are surely going to get really OP. In the future IMC might buff and debuff skills for PvP combat, or even ban certain skills.

Here’s my take on what’ll be the most significant classes for PvP based on CBT2 info.

Peltast - high defense and will be hard to kill, but it lacks offense as a class on its own

Cataphract - really fast movespeed, will probably difficult to catch, even player him/herself might have difficulty controlling

Rogue & Scout - has stealth

Psychokino - all of the psycho abilities have crowd control effect (except teleport which also is another important feature of the class)

Bokor - though cannot rely on zombies, Hex prevent HP regeneration and also decreases magic resistance.

Monk - can drain SP and reflect attacks

Sadhu - with OoB can support and cast cleric skills from a very long safe distance. Since most cleric skills/spells/buffs are applied in a close radius around the caster.

ps. all the classes in Wizards and Archers are fine as is since they only need to keep distance and spam attacks.

In wierd casses Thurmaturge. Turn really small and almost get ignored by enemy players.

the only problem is HP bar is still indicates your position

cant wait to create the most annoying tryhard build ever
right now they have plans for 3v3,5v5,gvg and a competition. anything on 1v1?

Quarrel Shooter is probably strong.
Has a stun skill they can “spam”, can block projectiles for anyone staying behind one of their walls, can slow and zone control with caltrops.

Thaumaturge has a long ranged “trap” stealing spell meaning you could remove those annoying safety zones and make them your own, buff your whole team damage and defence, and either reduce damage or movement speed at the expense of increasing the other with the size changing spells.

Sadhu will simply stay inside safety wall and spam auto attacks in all impunity for a while.

Personally i don’t see swordman class doing good at all, with maybe cataphract excluded because of trot or if spammed with defence spells and CC on everything they try to hit. I kinda assume swordie getting pain barrier is because of pvp performance.

Will Bokors zombies really not work? I figured they could just cast Zombify on the ground underneath an enemy with low HP that’s occupied fighting another player, direct it to a spot if need be, then use it for Damballa.

there’s no way to summon zombies, you need to kill stuff in order to zombify them. so without zombies you only have 3 skills (even a 3rd circle bokor) that can be used and one of then you cant cast on yourself, leaving only 2 usable skills on pvp.
if there’s a way to summon zombies without having to kill monsters, then it’s a different story

How would a battle with multiple necro’s / sorc’s work? Their summons are so big they’d be filling up the arena, no? That’s what I was most curious about – Some of the skills are so big and flashy that I questioned how valid they were for pvp. (That being said the giant snowball one looked… maybe okay…haha) :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Linkers will be awesome on 5v5 enviorments  … I’m courious on how will it’s skills en up stacking though (between an alied and an enemy linker)

Yes, this is what I was referring to when I said to cast Zombify on the ground underneath an enemy with low HP that’s already fighting. Once they die, wouldn’t that summon 1 zombie from them which could then be Damballa’d?

probably… but how you’re going to kill someone without the zombies? lol
also a single zombie wouldnt last very long… if you look up in a video you’ll that they die fast.

I think Monks will be a pain in the ass to kill, both solo and group PvP.

Sadhus (especially C3) may be efficient with OoB + Prakriti to flee and using Transmit Prana on a nuker (Group PvP).

I’m willing to see both Falconer and Doppelsöldner. lol

I don’t think Cataphract is so fast that even the player will have difficult controlling it, that’s an overstatement, the game itself is pretty slow as it is.

Unless we get this

Boy, would I LOVE PvP if we could move like that.

Trot increases movespeed by 10% per level in the old wiki database. at level 15 thats 150% speed increase and mind you this is a mounted class. Add some movespeed buffs or equipment into it and you have sanic.

Im torn between Cataphract, Monk or Psychokino for a pvp character.

So a Cataphract with Level 15 Trot + Divine Might + Running + The +150 movement speed armor from the video is literally the deformed son of sonic and flash

Well there is an easy counter in theory.

Psycokino’s to use swaps to the Cataphract inside an icewall or similar traps.

I really hope we can move incredibly fast in PvP, it would certainly make it more dynamic and funner to play/watch
And in a game where you can manually evade everything I think movement speed would be very meta-defining, but the insane amount of CC in this game would balance it out in my opinion, which works really well

In theory this game has a lot of potential to be a very competitive game, but I want to try it out in this CBT3 before jumping to conclusions

actually in my theory pvp winner is determined by the team with the most skilled psycokino.

all that CC that psycokino offers can deter most tactics in my made up scenarios.

I wouldn’t say that it will be decided by that alone, but a big factor most likely.
I can’t think of any other class whose tools work that well in theory, though.

Swordman classes in general seem very underwhelming in PvP as a major factor aside from just plain DPS

You’ll all be as good a swordsman as you are listeners… (Readers…)

The movement buff suppose to be 2.5x movement… (Roughly double a normal walk speed at circle2, and just over double at circle3) And yet in cbt2 they movin dozens of times movement speed, not 2.5x. Isn’t it reasonable to assume this speed is due to a bug… Just like the other speed bugs in cbt2.

You will most likely only get the approx equivalent of mounted speed. Not lightspeed =/
