It is quite similar to other cataphract builds having the swordsman C3 > cataphract C3 for core ranks, but instead of dragoon we go for lancer.

(http://www.tosbase.com/game/classes/Swordsman/) - From rank 1 to rank 3, this core class is primarily for offensive and defensive utilities that will synergize with the next classes; âpain barrierâ makes us less likely to trip while pouncing around, it goes well with Cataphractâs high mobilitiy, ârestrainâ can momentarily disable an enemy, it gives an opening for a follow up skill. Both skills will aid lancer combos land easier.

[ Cataphract ] - Then, from rank 4 to rank 6, we take this core class for itâs high mobility and offensive utilities; this class offers âtrotâ which is currently the best mobility buff, gives us the ability to engage in and out of battles, and ârushâ, it is arguably the best mobile physical damage in game, combined with âtrotâ turns us into a deadly apache helicopter, this skill will be one of our main source of damage on combat, plus a trio of knockdown skills; âearthwaveâ, âdoomspikeâ, andâsteed chargeâ, and lastly âimpaleâ, a one point wonder skill that can kidnap an enemy from their base, it can be situationally useful.

[ Corsair ] - For rank 7, we take this filler class mainly for the âiron hookâ which is in my opinion the best CC skill of swordsman tree, it also helps us land lancer skills easier. We can run around and hook like a mad cowboy. Also, the costume is also very good!

[ Lancer ] - Finally, for our main class we are taking this class from rank 8 to 10, Lancer is packed with offensive and defensive utilities as well; âcrushâ can reduce enemiesâ physical attack and defense by half, âjoustâ breaks magic circles, and silences magic classes for a duration, âinitiateâ gives us block penetrating ability and mysteriously ability to block physical damage, on circle 2, we will be able to dodge magic circles as well, and lastly, âunhoursingâ it unmounts mounted enemies, useful to cancelâs another cataphracts âtrotâ. With rank 9 and 10, the true potential of lancer is yet to be discovered.
