I feel like for a party play you kinda need Swash Buckling 10 or higher? So gotta take Swordsman C1>Peltasta C2. But what about the other circles?
I don’t want no full tank, but rather a good mix of tank and dps. I will mainly play with some friends, so I need to be tough enough to tank for them, but do some damage myself as well.
Any recommendations?
While 10 IS better than 5 in terms of Swashbuckling, it is in no way a “need” for party play. You can try the generic 2H sword route:
Swordsman-> Peltasta -> Highlander x3/Barbarian x3 -> Doppelsoldner x2.
C3 on High/Barb is important? Won’t you miss on the extra pulls from Swash Buckling 10 in mobby places?
It’s important if you want to deal some big damage with those maxed out skills/C3 exclusive skills. Going for more than 1 circle of Peltasta is usually for people who want to play a Main-tank. Yeah, the mob count of Swash 5 is lower but it’s not necessary even in mobby places. Missing out on those last circles will hurt your damage output.
As someone who tanked intensively back on CBT2. It’s a matter of preference.
Obviously, Lv5 Swashbuckling isn’t enough on alot of cases. There are parts of dungeons where there are more mobs than usual. Of course, picking Peltasta C1 means you could maximize your DPS output as an offensive tank.
Lv10 Swashbuckling will make your dungeon runs quicker, especially if you’ve seen Lv145 dungeon which is the best leveling dungeon at the moment, it has massive amount of mobs. If you want to clear it faster, Peltasta C2 is definitely a good choice BUT not necessary.
In the end, it’s just a matter of DPS or faster dungeon clear.
At the moment i’m trying out SW>Pelt>Pelt>Cat>Cat>Cat. The tankyness of the peltc2 is amazing. So are the pulls in dungeons. The damage output from Cata helps me greatly in doing solo things.
When I do dungeons or grind parties, I go with the 1h and shield and go full tank. When my buffs are on CD or mobs are almost dead, I switch to my 2h spear and help with the DPS. (Same for bossfights)
So far, its going really good. I’m running about 70con right now, and I am pumping STR and DEX for the rest of my stats. You won’t be the highest DPS, you won’t be the best Tank, but you will be decent at both. (I’m going for Templar, so i’m looking to help out my guild where needed when the time comes)
I have to add; I’m new to the game, did not play any beta and started playing when the servers opened for the founder packs. I have re-made my character about 4 times now, and this is the first time I feel like it’s going exactly the way I want it to.
