(PvE) Monk C3 to Inquisitor (Help)

Anyone got some good ideas for what skills to get for the impending Inquisitor? From my experience of early Monk 3, this is what I’m thinking so far:

Double Punch level 15
No brainer, at least I think so

One Inch Punch level 10
Does some nice DoT and Silence

Energy Blast level ?
This really needed? Terrible damage and very long charge that’s interruptable, sort of okay AoE

Hand Knife level 1
A nice armor breaking debuff

Palm Strike level 1
Another nice little DoT debuff

God Flick level 1
Decent Strike Damage debuff

Iron Skin level ?
No idea, it looks like a big waste of time for PvE

Golden Bell Shield level ?
Might be okay for a party to get up close and personal with a boss without being hit, or to use when there is a big attack coming your way. But you can’t do anything when using it

Now looking at Inquisitor’s Breaking Wheel and how it can turn any and all physical attacks into an AoE, Double Punch looks like a very nice synergy.

I am unsure of how exactly the mechanics work on Breaking Wheel, whether debuffs are also applied, or if all hits are translated into Slash type attacks or stay are the original type.

Not really sure if there are any other synergies with Monk skills. Anyone got some good insight or some plausible theory crafting aimed around PvE?

max energy blast, double punch, and one inch punch

do what ever you want for the other skills

Yeah that was what I was thinking. Have you had any personal experience with Iron Skin and Golden Bell Shield?

iron skin isnt too great, i would put 0-1 points into it.

golden bell looks bad but ie never used it

I find it hard to use properly, since people do now know what it does and run away from it.

I have been able to put it in my rotation when everything goes on cooldown and my stamina pill is refreshing for double punches. (which happens around every 2 minutes for me)

i feel by itself, olden sheild is preety underhwlming basially due to the fact that our base circle’s skill is better than it. but then you remember that you still hvae both

Golden Shield Bell I put 1 point into, just because all the important skills are maxed, and it can’t hurt to have an extra invulnerability skill right?

But geez what a silly skill it is, a C3 R7 invulnerability skill that can be interrupted in the first second or two by a simple attack. The only use I’ve found is to avoid a boss AoE when Safety Zone is on cooldown.

@kosxe21

Is Iron Skin any good for PvE? Since it’s a charge skill, I’d imagine that anything that is not melee interrupts it. Also do you receive damage from the attack itself? Or is it literally and completely reflected?

What I noticed so far with it ( and I have not participated in TBL in the last week to test more ) - it still blocks the damage dealt from the attack that interrupts it. If it is a multihit it only blocks the first tick.

Impaler just counters iron skin 100%…

Oh wow… I’m seriously thinking that I should ignore Monk C3 and may be replace it with something like Plague Doctor or Kabbalist instead. It seems the only up-side of having Monk C3 is more damage in Double Punch, One-Inch Punch and Energy Blast, which I can just make up for in Str and Attributes.

Cheers for telling me that.

Rerolling time.

well… I would wait if you have that leasure. Since they might introduce Lama as hidden class and have that require monk3 ( this is just a speculation - but it might make sense )

I kept my Monk C3 character, making another that is going to be Cleric C2>Diev C2> Monk C2> Plague Doctor C1> Inquisitor C1.

Kept them for exactly what you’re talking about.

I was thinking about the same. I might do another one but I kind of wanted to go Kabba at r7 or diev 3
Kabba for the dress, diev for the statue…
I will see how that goes. I will start that character a little later once I am done with my dragoon. Should be fun!!!
