The monster is actually a living being, not a programmed CPU

Its so fu***** anoying.
You gather as much mobbs as possible use blue pot >Double pay earn and then 50% of the monsters are running away …

Cant we just have agressive monsters that will follow you over the whole map?

Actually monsters don’t recover their HP. It’s the smartest feature of ToS so, IDK how you can complain on this. Plus they have a really large area of agro…

What are you saying ? Of course they do. Once they run away back to their original spot they “reset” and they’ll regen their HP back. Slowly, but surely.

And I agree it’s stupid af when they run away out of fear. If it’s because you took them too far and you lose the aggro, sure, okay. But when they’re dying and they just run to a corner… no.
Two days ago I was grinding in 340 HG and this Nuo Elite ran away. Even Elites run away '-'
They need to watch Shia’s motivation speech.

Not at all. Monsters never recover their HP. Not sure about WB but I think it’s the same. I already saw a WB with 95% HP and no one was on the map.

I never had problems like that, and it’s more stupid if the whole map follow you, don’t you think ? Demon Prison with a Pelta3 be like :tired:.

asdadhsjadsa did they bring this back? did yall forget at launch when monsters after hitting a certain hp level would like sprint away from you and they removed it because it was just pointless and obnoxious

bane of linkers

Yes, they do.
Once they run back to their orignal spot they definitely regen HP. And if you leave an area without finishing one mob, and come back to the area later, it’ll have its HP higher. It also happens if you disappear (using Fade or Dark Sight). And WB work more or less the same way but it takes longer since they have more HP.
I guess it’s basically when they get out of combat their HP regen starts.

I’m too lazy to do a video, but do you have a Cleric 2 ? You can try it easily with one. Go to any map, lower a mob’s HP, then use Fade. Since its attaker is gone, the mob will regen HP.
If you don’t have any, I can record it for you.

I’ve seen 2 different “running away” behaviors form monsters so far.

First one seems like a defensive mechanism in which monsters retain their aggro towards you (still counts towards aggro limit), but run away either way keeping their HP just as it is. Happens a lot with corridor mages in DG 300, where one of them just run towards the right path (upper boss) for no apparent reason.

Second one is basically what happens when you lose aggro totally, monster runs back to their original spot and quickly start to regen HP until engaged again. This one is easy to spot: just run across open maps AAing monsters without killing them, once they stop following you and go back to their initial spot their HP will start going up. Can just fade if you’re a cleric as well.

I’ll test it but it’s really strange as I met mobs withouth max HP many times and I never saw them recover their HP.

But I saw WB without max HP and they were not recovering HP at all o_O.

But what I’m 100% sure is if you attack them when they are running away they will not recover their HP, which is different from a lot of games where the mob will recover HP instantly, become invincible, or recover HP over time and will never stop to recover HP until he stopped to run.

It’s still not so hard to aggro many mobs and don’t lose mobs
