If you hit a fireball with PP, if fires 8 shards, one in each cardinal direction and the ball itself moves a step in the direction you’re facing. No, you can’t turn your character while casting PP.
If you link a fireball, and use PP on anything in the link, the fireball will act the same as if you used PP on it, sending out 8 shards and moving the direction you face. If you were to say, use Hangman to stick two fireballs inside a boss, the 8 shards would all hit the boss, then the 8 shards would all hit the boss, then 4-5 shards would as the ball moved out of the boss, then 1-2, etc. If you are in higher circles of linker and pyro, you can get as many as 6 fireballs in a single link to do this with.
It isn’t as good as Icewall pp, which has more(?) hits and less circle investment, but you can use it more often and its easier to setup than ice wall is.
With ice wall, each linked hit of pp is treated like a normal hit, sending out three shards in the direction you face. The second linked hit on an already hit wall will send out a second 3 shards. It’ll cause the wall to break faster, but it will also do damage faster.
-Unless the way they fixed the Toy Hammer abuse was by adding a cooldown period to each wall. You used to be able to proc ice wall with toy hammer, and proc toy hammer with icewall, leading to an instant death laser. That doesn’t work now, and I’m not exactly sure why.
