[PSA] Temporary Boss Crash Solution

this actually worked for me, kudos : 3

With friend we trying some test about this crash, and nothing fixed that, when the boss send ball, everybody instant crash.
It’s not funny !!!

it’s easier by zooming in to your character, the crashes are from having to load a large number of bullets onto the screen

I beat this boss by zooming into my character, just now

I could stay within range and auto attack it at that range too, as a mage

Yup, the game will crash regardless of fps being low or not.

ooh nice trick.
In addition to this:

with lowest resolution (1024x768) & zoomed-in camera, i could stay on the same screen even when the boss shot the red bullets (for the all 3 patterns).
I have passed gesti & tree spirit with those tricks and the last also using your trick on Bramble.

I’m playing this on a crappy laptop, have been running the game on Low Mode with all graphics option unchecked. I was having the same issue and, after being frustrated trying the different methods for at least 15 times and still getting the crashes, I tried switching Performance to “Don’t Use” (this automatically selects “Apply High Texture” which I then unchecked). Maybe I just got lucky but I finally managed to finish the quest on my pyro while using all my skills (flame ground, fireball, fire pillar, even auto atk) even when the boss was shooting the red bullets. If you get desperate maybe you can give this a shot.

Hope this helps someone.

I kept crashing doing Bramble boss. I tried windowed mode, it worked and I didn’t crash at all and my fps barely dropped.

i want to share my experience (right away). i never got to finish bramble with my swordie. but just now i did with my bokor. with 4 zombies, aukuras, casting heal and cure, zaibas… (basically whatever i can cast with cleric/krivis/bokor), drinking pots and all. my fps dropped to 3. i think i saw 2 or 3 types of the bullet, including the one mentioned above in the drawing that can crash (but i may be wrong, 3 fps). i also had my pet on.

i normally play with everything unchecked (low specs), low mode, fullscreen, 1920x1080. the only difference i had with my swordie is that i turned off vsync, and played zoomed in during the fight. i didn’t bother to check if zooming out will crash it.

both cases were solo play.

ps: i actually had Show other char’s effects checked this time as well, but it’s probably by accident. just mentioning just in case, “oh hey, it had an effect”.

I tried the solutions of the some of the most recent posters (zoom in, windowed, almost everything off except show other character’s effects).

At first I thought I was fine since I was able to hit Blue Woodspirit normally during his “pew pew” attack however on his next “pew pew” attack he seemed to use the crash causing pattern illustrated in one of the earlier posts and then…well, my game crashed.

I suppose I can consider this an “improvement”, before I tried windowed mode and turning off almost all the other graphics settings I would crash no matter what pattern of pew pew the boss was using.

EDIT: Tried the fight again, same settings except I’m using fullscreen this time and I got the same results. On the first “pew pew” I was fine (but I moved out of range anyway) then on the second “pew pew” my game crashed again. Both “pew pew” attacks in this case had the same patter (then again I’m posting this at 2am so I could be wrong about the patterns).

new case:
i had my friend do the same, but it didn’t work for her. she crashed like 7-8 times, trying all the mentioned workarounds. one time was when the boss was about to explode but the quest still reset. it was the last boss in crystal 3f.

so i helped her using my hunter. i didn’t bother testing other states, i did the same setting i did with my bokor against bramble: “vsync off, fullscreen, zoomed in”. she stayed away from screen. it didn’t crash for us.

so maybe… it depends on the hardware. i’m sorry i forgot to note if the crashing bullet pattern was ever triggered. so it’s still possible. it just didn’t occur to me to check since she had been trying so many times.

I also crashed on the second “pew pew attack” without time to runaway.

People are talking about how the boss bullets lowering FPS causes a crash.

This game is incapable of lowering my FPS even when playing it in tanden with an actual graphically strenuous game.

I’m an early archer, no type of DOT or Poison that I know of, the boss bullets from Mirtis are crashing me solo with no partners or party members. I almost even beat him the first time.

What needs to “be done” is that the devs need to fix it. There is no long-term solution anybody can use.

Hi!

Iv’e got the same problem … some bosses … but i have used a pretty basic fix for me and my friends.

  1. Disable all Graphic Settings
  2. Put the Performance to Low Mode
  3. Use Windowed Mode
  4. Use 1024.768
  5. Kill the Boss

After this you can use youre old settings.

Good Luck!

My game just crashed a minute ago and the boss doesn’t even use that pew pew attack yet.

I tried all solutions but it doesn’t work.
Hope they’ll fix soon. :pensive:

I believe there is a maintenance every Tuesday.
So it won’t be fixed until then.

Can they not just disable the boss attack until they fix the problem? I dont understand…

Step 1 solved my problem, thank you!

Going into a relatively small windowed mode worked for both me and the guy I was playing with when it happened tonight. When in windowed I was able to have a broom trap out + plus both of us running around while the balls were flying with no disconnect.
