PSA for those who have accounts in more than one server

Call me silly for not transferring, but I have accounts on both Telsiai and Orsha due to international friends. Both are tied to the same Steam account, so if you do this, be prepared to expect a few weird things. In no particular order;

  1. Chats and Friends lists from another server may show up. I.e, if I’m on my Telsiai chara, my party chat from Orsha and that particular friends list can pop up any time I decide to log in or change characters. That doesn’t mean you can talk to them though.

  2. Your compensation is shared. Yes, shared. I accepted my compensation for the 24hr maintenance on the Telsiai server, popped back into Orsha side to do the same but found that my compensation items have already been accepted. Not sure if this is a fault or intended seeing as,

  3. Your Tp and Token are not shared, even the Free TP.

Now I really have to question, is this an IMC issue or a Nexon issue? (Seeing as to how 90% of the “IMC you’re doing it wrong” complaints like world boss looting system, EXP system, trade restrictions, costume system, dungeon system, etc. should be titled “Nexon is doing this wrong so I s2g IMC, only follow the class patches and change those systems”.)

Yeap this is all true.
I had account on two servers from the first day and it gets confusing.
Actually this is not a Nexon game. Nexon is the korean publisher but it’s developed by IMC.

on 1) I can actually expand on this.

  1. Log in to character A on SEA
  • Chat with your friend as usual
  1. Logout, Login to character B on Orsha
  • You can still chat with your friend in SEA
  • You cannot chat normally in Orsha, or chat with any friends in Orsha
  1. Logout, re log-in to character B on Orsha
  • You can’t chat with your friend in SEA anymore
  • You can chat normally in Orsha

Basically the chat server didn’t get switched the first server switch, but if you re-log in again it will fix the chat server address.

Your first point sounds like a bug… you should probably get some screens of that and make a bug report.

The 2nd point is as intended. The lodge mailbox is shared across all servers, so you can only redeem the compensation once. Since you redeemed it on Telsai you can not redeem it again on Orsha.

Also, fyi, Nexon is not involved in anyway with iToS.

Accounts or just teams within same account?

Because it is impossible to have multiple accounts on one steam account (or rather your account is tied to your steam ID and game doesnt allow for duplicates neither does Steam).

If those are different teams on one physical account them it all makes perfect sense:

  1. Chat is cached, when you change servers (teams) game loads some of the last messages.
  2. GM mails are account wide and can be claimed on any team/server but only once.
  3. TP are Team/server bound.

Nexon is not involved in any way with iToS but I’m pretty sure Nexon is the developer/the brains behind ToS while IMC is just the publisher. Reasons; a) the art director is Korean, in fact 99% of the names in the credits are Korean, and b) we’re just following kToS patches.

It’s a little weird though, that TP is not shared but compensation is. Reasoning? More cash-grabbing? :stuck_out_tongue:

@nizidr
I have two team names linked to the same Steam account. Shouldn’t be allowed? I will be killed by my friends. Oh, please no.

P.S. I’ve been informed by my friend who’s quite familiar with ported Nexon games that Nexon is quite adept at balancing the game, and a lot of game companies that port their games over usually try to stray from the original patches before having to pay them heaps of money to get the Korean patches. Just crossing my fingers because I don’t want this to be Maple Story.

The developer for TOS in IMC is basically some old peeps from Gravity, which isn’t related to Nexon.
IMC is a korean company, have you been thinking IMC is an NA company?

@nizidr implied that two team names are fine. Two TOS accounts with separate team allocation to one steam account is the issue.

You are mashing up terms “team”, "account’, “steam account”. All your problems are from confusion in terminology.

This part requires a lot of facepalming.

which seems not to be the case here. Nor is it possible - game launches with steam ID as a key to your account. There is no way to have multiple ToS accounts on one steam account.

My apologies then? It’s just that kToS patches come out faster, we follow them a week or two later, and the patch notes are mainly posted in the Nexon.kr website. Plus, all the TP stuff and the important forum threads I found are all on that same website. Guess my assumptions through those research methods were wrong.

Just… trust us when we say Nexon is not involved in any way with iToS. :stuck_out_tongue:

IMC is the developer. Nexon is the publisher in Korea.
IMC is self-publishing (for their first time) over Steam for iToS.

IMC is a Korean company, so kToS will always get patches first. It is easier for them to develop the content in Korean first then port it over to iToS for us.

Don’t worry. I thought IMC was an NA company at first and they help Nexon.
After some wiki-ing and research I just found out what @Daenerys said above.

Guess that explains why the IMC staff have such poor communication. >< Thanks for the info. The wiki looks so out-dated that I haven’t even explored it. Explains a lot of the IMC complaints, but doesn’t explain much else ><. Well…my friend’s going to get demotivated then, since he got excited due to Nexon’s reputation at balancing.

Your friend is… strange. Because Nexon.kr is known to make P2W out of games they publish.

^what @nizidr said
MapleStory and Mabinogi are just two of the most popular examples

He likes the class balancing reputation.

Thats not Nexon’s achievement but developers’ of those games. Nexon is just a publisher that means that it only manages servers and cash shops. Game expansions and balance patches are not done by them.

I’ll tell him that. Well then, my issue with the weird compensation and TP thing would be solved since the Telsiai account was mainly there to babysit a mutual friend and to play with him.

Well, guess I’ll go ahead and make a placeholder on the other US server to stockpile those dungeon resets. Just in case I ever decide to change servers.

You won’t get them back if you don’t though. That was my thought process too, since my friend won’t be back from jail (ultra-religious boarding college) until the end of next year.

[/quote]Yeah I made my Telsiai account to accompany my friend too in SEA but for ping’s sake and some other friend I’m playing in Orsha now.
It was hard for a while managing time to play 2 chars in 2 servers…
