[Proposal]Wizard SP regain method

Dear IMCGames, developers, and players,

The SP ‘problem’ is a common sight these days. The Korean beta was the same, the first iCBT was the same, and now in iCBT2, it still hasn’t changed.

I came up with a suggestion/proposal on how to lessen the SP problem: implement an SP recovery on our basic attack. For instance, each hit with our basic attack would restore 10% SP i.e. 400 basic damage would restore 40SP. A different method could also be percentage based. Every basic attack would restore 1-2% of our maximum SP.

Tell me what you think of this option. Would this be viable?

Best regards,

Schaapje

Maybe make it an attribute. Should be small amount or mana pot will be useless.

Not enough SP?
Solution: Get SP potion from shop
Solution 2: spend points on your character’s SPR stats

Yeah. I agree with you because everyone want to have the same stats and build for their wizard. Alll hail support wizard!

You can also make a firecamp, it’s cost only 30. Not while fighting however.
If you haven’t enough sp, you can up spr too

Yes, I’m well aware of other options such as cheap SP potions and fire camp, and what not.

SP potions are expensive and do not restore that much SP. On later stages you will have to purchase larger potions because SP usages increases many times and damage is more or less proportional.

Fire camps disrupt grinding.

I’m not saying those options will become useless, I’m suggestion a change in the game that makes the gameplay a lot more refined than it is now.

So basically you want something to make wizards stronger than what they are, you do realize the balancing issues there right?

Eliminate the only thing that stops wizards from being broken OP, that’s not good.

IMC is cracking down on balance issues, specifically seen with the Barbarian class, removing some of it’s more over powered abilities in engage for something more straight forward and easier to balance.

Don’t make balancing a bigger issue than it already is.

Broken OP? I’m talking about a minimal SP recovery method. 1% max SP recovery pet basic attack hit is not a lot, neither is 5% - 10% of basic attack damage recovered as SP a lot.

Around level 200, basic attack is somewhere between 400 - 600 damage according to Youtube videos. SP costs of skills are well above the 100, ticking up to 200 per usage at high-end levels.

I’m playing solo with a wizzard, level 44.
I don’t know how it will be at level 200, but for now I have absolutely no SP problems. It’s actually quite easy to manage the SP compared to other games.
Buy some NPC potions, they are not expensive at all, my wallet is still growing well.

I also agree that the Game is heavy on sp use, and with no good sp recovery method. I’m playing a class 2 swordman focused in skills and not auto atk and I even though I had leveled my spirit, I still need to eat a lot of sp potions to deal a good dps. This issue becomes even worse in boss fights because you can’t sit, can’t bonfire and because of its high hp and defense, IMC could at least make the passive recovery a bit faster. On a side note, even worse than sp recovery is hp recovery, even with a bonfire I have to sit 4-5 minutes to recover all my hp, it is so annoying wanting to play and you need to sit for a long time just to recover hp.

Even though my Cryo is still a baby at level 28, SP is not a major problem for me. I do use my auto attack quite a bit though, but it is helpful at the low level since it seems to scale with LvL/Int (?). Not sure how well it works at the higher levels though.

Thats far too strong of a buff. Instead, Make it so that all normal attacks refill sp equal to your SPR/5, where 5 can be any number from 2 to 10 for balance.

I like this idea. Actually works quite well in PSO2. It’d be nice if there was a way for Wizards to give SP to other characters as well, specifically healer clerics.

Resting w/ bonfire seems to work for now, even in combat. For me anyway, I run high SPR.

Thats what you get for maxing out your skills too early… each cast takes a chunk of SP

And how do you suppose we of the Wizard tree deal damage? Our damage is already low compared to others.
