In the 20/2/2018 ktest/ktos patch notes by @Gwenyth IMC introduced an event called the Master’s Trial. The event details is as follows:
The Master’s Trial:
The Master’s Trial event will commence.
- Participation can be done by speaking to event NPC in Klaipeda & Orsha.
- The Master’s Trial is a solo event dungeon and has 3 stages to it. For each stage you must defeat a boss monster within the time limit (5mins) if you do, you can proceed to the next stage.
- The Master’s Trial difficulty is increased every Thursday at 00:00 AM.
- Week 1: Easy Mode
- Week 2: Amateur Mode
- Week 3: Hard Mode
- Week 4: Very Hard Mode
- Dependant upon what difficulty you complete the Trial on, some rewards are given.
Easy Mode: 5x Tiny Fragment of Possibility
Amateur Mode: 10x Tiny Fragment of Possibility
Hard Mode: 20x Tiny Fragment of Possibility
Very Hard Mode: 30x Tiny Fragment of Possibility
Rewards:
~snip~ (but one of the rewards is Diamond Anvil)
This is a really good event which is designed with a clear aim of acquiring data from players while also providing fun for the participants. IMC can change the rewards to suit the iToS community if they want, I don’t mind them removing DAs if it proves to be too much for us to handle.
Personally I think it is a boon to bring this event to iToS soon, even when we have not reached the Wizard revamp balance patch
Reasons of bringing in the event to iToS:
-
Provides developers the pre-balance revamp (from iToS) set of data as compared to post-balance revamp (kToS). Easier to see how skill/class changes the developers implemented affect damage/playstyle and clear speed given the same environment;
-
More servers having the event means more players participating = more data collection;
And I do urge our players to actively participate should this event be brought over to iToS :3
-
This is a chance for us to provide data to the devs, especially on classes which aren’t really balanced when compared with the rest. So do bring your ~misteks~ to challenge the event bosses. It will help a lot.
-
We can also show how warped the current equipment enhancement system is by clearing out bosses at record speeds (+ have fun doing so), and hopefully the devs can use the data they collect from this to balance the content and/or equipment enhancements.
