Proper PvE Monk Guide - No Theory Bollox

Is this new? Radius increase from attack ratio.

I believe so unless I misunderstand AoE attack ratio. I know you have always been able to hit multiple enemies with double punch however.

I found how it works. The following is what I found and it seems to make sense to meā€¦

Any attacks that are governed by AoE Ratio Mechanic will have an X amount of AoE Attack Ratio charges. The game will first deal damage to the target within the AoE which has the highest AoE Defense Ratio parameter(Might also prioritize monsters by size and/or distance. Needs testing). The first targetā€™s AoE Defense Ratio is subtracted from the Attackā€™s AoE Attack Ratioā€™s charges. If there are any charges remaining, the AoE attack will bounce to the next target and repeat the process until there are no more AoE Attack Ratio charges, or no more targets to choose from within the AoE.

Example: Using a skill that has a total AoE Attack Ratio of 8 against a group of 5 monsters. The group of monsters within the AoE has 3/2/2/2/1 AoE Defense Ratios, respectively.

-The monster with 3 AoE-DR will be targetted first. After hitting this monster, the AoE still has 5 AoE-AR charges remaining;
-The AoE attack randomly bounces on two of the monsters that have 2 AoE-DR, and loses that many AoE-AR charges each. It has 1 remaining charge;
-The attack bounces one last time to the third monster that has 2 AoE-DR. The target is hit by the attack and there are no charges left. The skill does not hit any additional targets after this;
-The monster with 1 AoE-DR is standing inside the AoE, but does not take damage, because you are already hitting the maximum number of targets that your attack permits;

Test results show that the first target to be hit will be the one with Highest AoE Defense Ratio, with subsequent targets being chosen randomly. It is possible that different skills will prioritize targets differently, but the model of AoE Attack Ratio subtracting from AoE Defense Ratio for each target in the AoE has already been confirmed in several tests, and is probably the same for all AoE Ratio skills.

I was hoping it would enlarge the area a skill hit which it ā€œkindaā€ does, but not really.

Hi saviors.

Iā€™d like to pick monk as my second character and it will be c2/d2/monk3.
Would be anybody that kind and give me some advice about skills ? Maybe tosbase simulator link.
I want to be good dmg dealer, most of time iā€™ll be soloing. Iā€™d lide to take out a boss solo too. But when i join a party i want to be also a good supporter.
I have already started. Right now im at lvl 28 C2 ā€¦
Also some recomenadtion about gear and stats.
That will be very helpful. Thanks a lot.

Crazy person here, but my build is C2 Kri2 Monk3 ā€¦ Iā€™m looking forward to get zaibas with ā€œsplashā€ enhancement for grinding, great damage for bosses( this nuke hits really hard some bosses ) .
The game play is the main problem, too much time spent casting abilities :worried: , but safety zone + dex is awesome.
I was planning to go 2:1 STR:DEX, but after some research I may consider a lower DEX and higher levels of INT and/or SPR.

Cool! that was my original plan, but opted to go for krivis3 instead - more hits for zaibas, Iā€™m so jealous of lv10 Safety Zone

You donā€™t need SPR, the additional crit attack from zaliciai from SPR is flat rate, and since you wonā€™t be going dex build you donā€™t need it, Clerics have the highest SP pool among all classes if you roll a enchant head gear that gives 37 sp recovery, youā€™re good! you wonā€™t be needing sp potions unless under certain conditions like dungeon raiding

Basically I use mana potions when I lure too much mobs and canā€™t handle them( always grinding mobs with 2-4 levels above ), at least some of the mobs, until my safety zone run out and my heal canā€™t keep up all my HP pool( 90% at least ).
Since my evasion is not bad and a eventual block my safety zone usually ends without consume all hits.

Love this guide/build and it fits my play style, so thanks!

So I am going C1>P3>M3, what is the best/fastest/most efficient way for me to level my priest until I hit Monk. Iā€™m currently a level 40 P2 and things are already slowing downā€¦

Is quests/grinding the ā€œbestā€ way to level or partying faster? Any suggestions/tips would be awesome! :grin:

would see in first post (alsu u should mark ā€œupdatedā€ if u update some info)

  1. items
  2. focus for invest money (items? enchants for equip? which gems need asap? before u get 200 u can reach near 3-4 gems with 5 lvl, enchants for skills? which skills first example bless 50>double punch 30>inch punch 20> etc)
  3. what about next three korean ups for monk (base dmg and dmg for lvl up each monk skill was increased>knockdown/knockback from palm strike/handknife can be turn OFF, +% debuff with monk skills to up your strike dmg)

i think thats all very important :open_mouth: ty

what should i lvl up? leather or plate? in attributes

Youā€™ll do less grinding and more questing all the way to 120. Donā€™t forget to do orshas story quest line and some side quests since youā€™re already 40, I suggest you start with paupys crossing map and work your way till you can do any more orsha stuff then go back to klapedia. Once you hit 46, youā€™ll easily hit 50 then do the lvel 50 dungeon twice and get to 60+ in just two runs.

Leveling to 120 is faster than you think, in 1 day you could reach 70+ already.

Cleric>Cleric>Priest>Priest or Cleric>Priest>Priest>Priest? Help pls ty

Milkshakeā€¦

This has been discussed over and over AND OVER both in this thread and in several others. Instead of posting this same question in several threads and just expecting people to offer you answers(which is what you have done), how about you read the threads your posting in for the answers.

People have discussed and argued and fought over Cleric builds for rank 1 through 4 to death at this point.

Carve Vakarine - only put 1-2 points, but definately put ATLEAST 1 point, it is a very useful skill, doesnt seem too helpful on paper, but it is really helpful. plus u can level it 1 more with divine might, so only 1 point is neccecary.

cave laima - dont go over 5 points. at 4-5 points u can have 100% uptime with this skill, and leveling it only increases time so no need to put mre than 5 points if u will have 100% uptime.

carve zemyma - again, dont go over , u wi ahve 100% uptime, levleing it to max wont help much bcuz its scaling isnt that good and end game you wont need it much.

carve - max, it deals tons of dmg and 1 shots everything when youre below lvl 100, plus it doubles dmg on plant enemies and peirces (except ghost types bcuz they have resistance)

carve owl - max too, deals tons of dmg, tons of utility (see below) and still deals tons of dmg end game even without any int

carve world tree - put maybe 3-4 points depending on what playstyle ur going for, it can be used as utility,support,crowd control, and keeps u in control of the arena (see below)

monk is pretty self explanitory

max energy blast, one inch, and double punch. only 0 or 1 in iron skin, rest into palm strike and hand knife and bell

owl - owl can serve as good utility

  1. carve laima - this skill taunts enemies and also slows them so u carve it and all the enemies run towards laima to attak her
  2. once they attack her, carve 2 owls facing laima on different sides of her
    3.owl will kill them all
  3. lure in more enemies by auto attcking them and running to laima, they will start attacking laia, new enemies that spawn will go to laima also.
  4. u get a lot of silver and drops and exp
  5. u feel good bcuz u just used a goo way to grind

arena owl

the owl can be used as a trap or a restriction.

  1. place 1 owl facing left or right
  2. place 1 owl facing forward, to make a perpendicular ā€œlineā€ or ā€œsymbolā€ when they fire, the person willhave to run through it to get to you
    or
    1.place 2 owls that block of the entrance to their ā€œbaseā€ so they have to go hrough it and to get to u.

same goes for tree u can use laima to slow them down then use world tree so they are slow and silenced.

stats
i recommend a similar amount of str and dex
and about 40-60 con, about 10-20 points in spr

So whats considered the best level 120 weapon for Monk? Iā€™m have trouble picking one.

Velniup is the best commonly achievable one. There one some better ones, but generally they cost to much to be worth the investment between 120-170.

What about the armor? Do you stick with cafrisun til around 120?

And the sub weapon? Arde or beetleback?

Arde is the best sub-weapon until 170. You donā€™t need to swap it out until max level though an you start gearing up.

Amour isnā€™t as important, pick your poison I like leather.

Between the two valia or velniup, which would you prefer? And is vubbe gauntlet a good pick? Btw i have taken a liking to your guide.

Iā€™d just pick up Velniup as itā€™s somewhat cheap an easy to get get. Then swap to Suncus Maul at 170, which is arguably the best Monk weapon period an requires very little investment.

Although personally I prefer Magas Sword. I wasnā€™t at 120 very long honestly. So the investment in 120 gear didnā€™t seem that important to me. You can fly up to 170 using Demon Prison grind & Lvl 6/7 exp cards at either 162 or 165.

I actually used a Wizard Blade all the way until 170 which is a terrible weapon. I just didnā€™t care. Iā€™d save the majority of your money an invest at 170. As honestly the 220 gear isnā€™t very good in large.

So itā€™s usually 170 to 270 in upgrades. Which is much more meaningful. As for the Gauntlets I donā€™t have massive amounts of dex in my build, so I require the accuracy from higher level gloves to insure I donā€™t miss.

So I use level 220 leather gloves. As leather armour is my amour of choice at the moment.
