Problem - Why Are People in Such a Hurry?

Because we have 999 chars to do dg, saalus etc and work the day after =)

You CAN get 2 pract on a single character (2 mystic cube to be precise), it just requires high level guild and lots of hidden quests.

lol not everyone can play 10 hours a day like you

I don’t see any problem talking to random people. Especially on our server. 99% of the time it ends very positively with cute interactions.

Occasionally new players aren’t very nice, but you don’t usually see them in most of the places we go.

In general I think the timing is what matters though. The state of mind people are in. When people are in a dungeon run they’re not in “make friends and socialise” mode, they’re in “I want to progress my character and get things done” mode. So in that mode some people are often trying to reduce the quantity they interact so it doesn’t interfere. If you’re standing around in town however, people are very open to socialising because they’re not in any goal-oriented mode, they’re there to kill time because they don’t want to do other stuff.

Hopefully more “fun” things are added that do not have character progression as a focus, allowing for a mixture of the two to occur where people aren’t trying to avoid distractions.

With that said. I agree with you if we’re talking about how the servers used to be. The way things are now however the vast majority of toxic people quit the game and went to mobas or managed to get themselves banned.

yeah there is a problem with this kind of stuff. it has a kind of competitive vibe to it. I would wait for people if I notice what is going on but sometimes bosses blow up in seconds. I hope they get their hps buffed a ton cause it sucks when things die instantly before you can even hit them once.

Its more because mmorpgs have become for casuals. They don’t have any sense of community anymore these days since most mmorpgs are built to bascally be gimped single player games, tos is no exception to this. You can literally get to max lv and beyond without saying a word to anyone because there is no reason to. Most mmorpg players today won’t bother talking to people if they don’t need to. I still firmly believe world of warcraft single handedly killed the mmorpg genre by getting casuals involved. The games were much better in the past before wow was a thing, not only in gameplay but also in the community aspects. One of the (VERY) few remaining mmorpgs where being in a decent community is well worth it is ragnarok online.

Another issue is the monsters in dungeons and most places are just to easy, at lv 200+ alot of classes are able to solo packs of dungeon monsters decently easy. I mean my chaplain can usually solo a dungeon second she can go into it at a decent speed. Mind you I feel chaplain is kinda too strong, I love the class but really, a chaplains auto attacks hits harder than a large amount of classes best attack skills. Though it comes at a price, they seem to plateau very early and don’t really get much stronger so they fall off later on, pretty hard actually, since the only way to up their damage really is with spirit and bless, since chaplain relys on the extra hits from having stuff like cafrisun set, sacrament, last rites etc to boost their damage.

Had slightly different experience on jTOS.

While it is pretty much the same and you shouldn’t bother reentering Siaulai, your party tend to help if they see you dueling with the last mob in the room.

Sure, they will proceed with killing mobs if you DC in the dungeon, but will usually wait you before the boss if they’ll see that you have already reconnected.

No build talk though. You’d better try it in shout/on the forums.

there are durations on battle manuals. waste of money/items to small chat with someone you’ll never see again.

Theres a good chance most players have already done the dungeons you are doing and they do talk alot
about the game but probably with there guild members/friends. If you want to talk about the game or socialize with other players try finding a guild or go to fedimian theres usually a few players doing… nothing at all and getting famous for it.

theres probably also a discord channel somewhere for all your socializing needs!
