Priest3 skill allocation for Monks

I’m getting annoyed at myself mulling over how to allocate skill points for Priest3 going to a Monk. I can see the advantages of each skill, and if we have unlimited skill points, I’d like to max them all.

I would like to ask not the ultimate way to allocate them, but how would you - for your own benefits, allocate them, or at least the priority. I’m sure we’ll have disagreements - but hopefully to new players like me, this opinion sharing will be useful.

  • Blessing
Some said 3, some 10, some 15. I definitely can’t go with 3 because with Sacrament and Cafrisun Set, Priests can hit more than 60 times in Blessing’s duration, I don’t exactly know how the mechanic work but I know it disappeared before cooldown’s over o_O I wonder if it makes any difference on how quick it runs out if we have Arde Dagger?

  • Sacrament
Some said 1, some said 10. Either one works, but how does this fare against the other support skills in the list below?

  • Mass Heal
First concern on how much to put, I’ve seen some people give up points on Mass Heal. What’s the minimum you guys think this should be?

  • Revive
Seems like something a lot of people give up on, although I do think it’s invaluable in dungeons. But again, what’s the minimum you think should be there? I plan to put at least 4.

  • Resurrection
4 seconds feels like forever… I have 2 points in it now. Is it the lowest in priority?

Aspersion and Monstrance doesn’t seem to be beneficial for monk more than 1 point so I’ll toss that out of the picture. Stone Skin seems to be a must-get so… 7 skill points used, 38 skill points left. Where would you drop the rest?

Thanks for the responses!

If your main focus is highest DPS why would you sacrifice points from sacrament or blessing? There isn’t anything in our kit, for the play style of monk, that’ll offer more damage than those basic two skills.

As for revive, it is extremely useful. And Res is situational, having more points is great but I stopped at two for more points in mass heal. Two felt right because of the requirement for revive attribute.

Imo priest3 in general:

  • Blessing 5-10, since majority of the dmg comes from the attributes anyway. Just got to focus on a decent hit count. Always take the attributes as well.

  • Sacrament 1, far to low dps boost per level. Besides you can buy lvl 10 sacraments from pardoners instead. (They’re already in towns.)

  • Mass Heal 10, since you need it healing wise and it got nerfed quite badly.

  • Revive 3+, pvp has a 3s invuln cap for this skill. Still the healing and invuln are very good at higher levels. Bit of a long cd though.

  • Resurrection 2-5, i always want the revive attribute which requires lvl 2 anyway. But it is interrupted when you’re hit, and you generally want to res with as much health as possible so lvl 5 would be ideal.

  • Monstrance 1 for the dex boost if you want it, more for spr builds for debuffing. usually 3-5 then.

  • Aspersion should only be worthwhile for chaplains, and they should dump all their spare points in it. 1+

  • Stone skin is 5 for non spr builds, but 1 is fine for spr builds as their spr scaling gets them a huge amount of block anyway.

  • Exorcise is only for dot based int builds with pardoner+pd imo. And then it’s still not very good.

So for your build i’d go with:

1 aspersion
1 monstrance
10 blessing
5 res
3 sacrament
10 revive
10 mass heal
0 Exorcise
5 stone skin

@jonathansilva Nice insight; for solo, I thought it’s nice to be able to survive longer too, and as mean as I sound, my concept is that in dungeons, you want to help your team survive longer so they can be punching bags instead of you :stuck_out_tongue:

@Wurmheart oh I didn’t realize we can skimp on Stone Skin if we have SPR o_O I jumped the gun. Well SPR monks are rare anw >.<
