Priest3>Diev3>Taoist

Hello guys. I am planning a Cleric build and I am wondering if this would be a good idea. Could also drop 1 rank of Priest for MIko as well, though not sure if it is worth it. Stats would be full Spirit.

Has anyone tried something like this? I be focusing on PvE.

While it does look appealing and superior support, I could spot 2 big problems:

  1. No reliable safety zone and heal tiles.
Don’t count mass heal it won’t be enough. At least cleric 2 priest 1 required but not cleric 1 priest 2.
  2. You lack damage. Krivis could work but not priest without chaplain

Krivis-Taoist combo is in a really bad spot right now so that’s not an option.

On Topic:

Don’t mix Priest3 with Diev3 ever, while it looks good on paper it’s not that great, they’re better in separated builds so you can use the other ranks to take things that benefits them.

If you want to keep the Priest you can go for:

Cleric2-Priest3-Chaplain-Miko-Taoist

Cleric2-Priest3-Chaplain-PD2

Those are the most common builds (there are other variants but to not make this so long we’ll go with the usual ones), first one is entirely a support build, it’s really good for ET and stuff, if you want you can ditch Chaplain and pick Miko at R6 leaving R7 open to either Oracle or PD1 for that status ailments removal, stats would be full SPR too.

The second one is somewhat of a support-semi dps one because of PD2, it’s very good to help clearing and it helps soloing a little bit more, stats would be full SPR too, you can also go with full INT and max Aspersion instead of Blessing but that would be a more solo build and doesn’t provide as good support as a full SPR one buff wise.

Now if you want to go the Diev route you can go this:

Cleric2-Diev3-Miko-PD2

This was the most common (and OP) build for Diev, it got nerfed since the combat patch but it’s not that bad, provides utility and DMG on it’s own, stats would be full INT for this one, Miko is heavily recommended for this build because of Clap which extends the duration of the statues.

Thank you for your suggestions! I have a Chaplain and I was initially thinking of going Chaplain-Miko-Taoist as well. But then I was told Taoist does not synergize as well with Chaplain because Storm Calling does not boost Chaplain’s magic damage.

I figure boosting everyone else’s damage is more important?

  1. And why do you need a “reliable” Safety Zone if you can facetank everything that’s non-knockdown and get knocked out of Safety Zone anyway by a lot of skills?

As long as there are no nuke skills that disregard defence, there’s no need for Safety Zone anymore.

About Heal: 10 Heal tiles every 22 seconds should be more than enough in combination with Mass Heal. Heal level 10 has a maximum healing capacity of 100% HP while level 5 has 50%.
Meanwhile, Mass Heal can Heal up to 140% at level 10 (5 x 28%), so obviously Heal 5 + Mass Heal 10 is superior to Heal 10…
[Speculating could be done on the possible datamined recovery boost attribute of Storm Calling, which might be ingame at Rank 9 to boost your healing power with Heal and Mass Heal]

What I’d say is a problem is the missing Divine Might.

  1. Damage is indeed a problem, since Dievdirbys is pretty bad at dealing damage. Priests Exorcise is a pretty nice damage skill, but other than Carve Attack,Carve Owl and a lowlevel Cure, this is basically all you get currently.

Taoist is able to deal good damage, but he will only be decent from Rank 9 onwards as you get Creeping Death Charm to 40-44 hits (as the devs stated that they will introduce new monster gems for Rank 7 and Rank 8 skills).

The general overall problem/flaw your build has got is that Dievdirbys C3 is basically useless overkill. A longer Carve World Tree, better Carve Owl damage and an Ausrine that became pretty much useless in PVE because you take little to no damage with decent equipment & buffs is all you get.
I don’t think Diev will ever make it back to become useful in PVE even with the new Challenge Mode stuff.

If you want to have Diev, C1 or C2 should be enough, leaving room for e.g. Chaplain and Miko or Chaplain and Bokor or Miko and Bokor.

But if you really want to build your own build and have the urge to drop something, drop 1 Circle of Dievdirbys for Miko, not Priest. With Priest, not only will you lose a lot of potential Blessing damage, you’ll also lose Exorcise and Mass Heal 10 in the process. Diev only loses Ausrine but gains ± full uptime on Carve Owl and Carve World Tree thanks to Clap 5.

Not all of them and up to 20 hit limits makes it still useful though. Well I guess this is now become subjective.[quote="ReportofAusterity, post:5, topic:369321"

Have you tried living with cleric 1 priest 3? I guess this one is also subjective but that’s what I feel lacking with only 5 tiles as mass heal is need to aim precisely

Agree with taoist though. with charm price goes down, you can just throw every charm and begone demon if needed

Early on is a joke, but later, specially in ET, 10 Heal tiles can save your team from a wipe, you could possibly not need them but your team will, true Chap doesn’t go well with Taoist but it does go well with Miko, Kagura + Storm Calling is a really good boost for physical dps and it’s futureproof because of Taoist C2 in R9 might bring some awesome things (I’ll personally probably go for Shepperd anyway because I want a doge heh).

That’s also subjective since it doesn’t matter that it doesn’t boost Chap’s magic damage, afterall, you’re going full SPR and you’re a Support, no need to boost yourself but to boost your team, Chap is getting buffed in the sense of Deploy Capella, it’s also reducing Magic DMG so it might become viable and also since every cape (catalyst to use Deploy Capella) only costs 200 silver it becomes more appealing (used to be 10k silver).

However Chap can be replaced with PD or Oracle if you want the CC Removal, but the support potencial (and soloing) is still there :stuck_out_tongue:

Okay thank you everyone for your tips. I’ll go Miko next and then decide from there.
