Is it normal to priests equip swords ? because it does a lot more damage than maces, im just checking if it is intended since I’m testing my damage with all monsters, and swords always wins, note that I’m testing a mace and sword with same damage and I’m going full STR to snowball with blessing and sacrament. So should I focus on swords ?
Don’t Clerics have a blunt mastery attribute?
At lower level most monsters have 50% increase damage from Slash attacks, while maces are “strike”. I recommend you to have both weapons to switch accordingly.
But yes, this is intended.
It gives you chance to stun enemies, don’t give you damage
As far as I know, Maces do increase your Magical Attack as well. Depending on the weapon, they can also give bonuses to SPR/INT higher than swords as well. I guess swords do have an advantage earlier on though.
I frequently switch between weapons just to get the 50% bonus…or at least to not have -50% damage… So don’t focus on one weapon…focus on your damage XD There is a lvl 40 mace btw that is called spiked mace… and that one does Pierce damage what is rly nice to have. I could use a dagger now (120+ sub weapon) for pierce but I still prefer my spiked mace with shield X)…
Carry both. And a dagger too while you’re at it.
3 Damage types to switch to when the situation demands. All boosted by Sacrament+Blessing.
I will say when if going Monk, the need for a mace lessens due to all your abilities being strike, including the spammable Double Punch. Still good to carry one around for Strike-vulnerable bosses though.
