Priest build Help

ADDENDUM
-The path from rank 3 onward-

I figured I may as well add this tid-bit on at the end. Once you hit rank 3 you will want to immediately head to Tenet Chapel B1. There are a few quests around that are easy enough and mainly just require you to kill monsters. This place is a dream come for true for Priests since all of the monsters are weak to holy damage and the majority are weak to strike damage. Grab your best upgraded mace (the Maul is the best, easily obtained one I’ve seen for level 40), cast Blessing and Sacrament, and get to work wrecking those faces! Work your way up to 1F and 2F as you go along and you will be 50+ before you know it. There is good loot to be had as well. Just watch out for Gesti on 2F :hushed:

Once you have cleaned out the chapel, go make/join a party for the level 50 instance dungeon right outside the entrance. This instance will take you to 65/66 pretty easily. Be sure to get yourself a nice sword and mace and grab the weapon swap attribute from your rank 2 master. You will want to be able to switch between damage types as you move along from here on out.

Once you hit the mid 60s you can continue forging onward through the world. I would say the easiest thing to do at this point is to skip maps and get to Gate Route.Start up the quest chain there and fight your way through the series all the way to the Constructor’s Chapel. You can grind there or go to Gytis Settlement Area in the late 60’s. I suggest saving all EXP cards you get from these quests for the last few levels before the rank 4 advance or for the peak of the EXP curve at 86. Things will generally get easier once you hit rank 4 so I think getting there a little more quickly can be a benefit.

Once you have hit rank 4 or even a little before, you can continue on through to Rukas Plateau, King’s Plateau, Zachariel Crossroads and the Royal Mausoleum. Once you hit 90, spam the instance dungeon at Zachariel Crossroads as much as you can and grind in the Mausoleum. DO NOT USE A SINGLE EXP CARD WHILE YOU CAN RUN AN INSTANCE OR GRIND FOR EASY LEVELS!! You should be able to make your way through the following maps and get to 115 or so without much trouble. Everything is pretty straightforward up to rank 5. Just quest and grind where you can.

@Mioure I apologize if I have violated some sort of forum code of conduct I was not aware of. I have not previously posted this information anywhere else so I have no link to another thread. I have been writing it all as replies in this thread because this is where the discussion started and the people who expressed interest in the subject have been checking this thread. I mean no disrespect to any of the posters here and only sought to share what experience I have gained in the game in order to help others not repeat the same mistakes I made myself.

Hey @DeanDandelion , your tips for battle priest have been amazing, thank you so much for all the information. This may seem like a silly question, but do I need to grab the heal attribute that negates the damage heal does to monsters?

Hi, stefanb1993. Thanks for kind words  I’m glad the information is helpful. I should have covered the other attributes in the wall of text but it slipped my mind. It is a good idea to grab that Heal attribute, yes. Since you do damage with auto-attacks and don’t need to rely on Heal for damage it’s always good to know those tiles aren’t going anywhere in the event you or a party member need them in order to survive.

Alright cool cool. @DeanDandelion I have so many more questions haha. What advice do you have for a Battle Priest who wants to go the Paladin route. And as a battle priest, do you think I’ll still be able to adequately support my party?

Also, is 3 Str, 1 Con, 1 Spr a good spread?

I haven’t yet read all your guides yet but i suggest you put up a new and your own thread. thanks for the guide!

Hey @DeanDandelion, due to the fact that I’m a new user. It says I can’t reply to our message thread more than 3 times. Would love to continue contact with you though. I play on the Gabija server.

Have been C2 Priest for half of the week, and pretty much the same way how I started (I guess I was lucky to get a Cafrisun item when I know nothing about equipments).

I also find Aspersion being useless, even a pure SPR built (100 points in), the damage is useless, and either the monsters are killed, or I got heal. Also the experience being a Full Support is not easy. Not only need to manage HP, short buff time and long cool down on heals, also you need to be at the right place at the right time (at least your mouse needs to point to the right direction).

I think it is best to try out the class before committing into one through theory or skill simulator.

aspersion is not for damage dealing purposes. it is for the buff. if you want damage. i suggest invest few points in cure.

Not I don’t know how to use it, but the buff is not useful, which I already said the monster is being killed before I need the buff. My experience against quest boss or other monsters, I see no difference of having it. In dungeon, simply there is not enough buff slot for this, and the melee person, they are kiting more than face tank. Even face tank, safety zone has been more useful.

Regardless, this is just my experience, I just regret having them instead of putting more in Blessing.

yup. blessing all the way still. im expecting aspersio to be a key buff in pvp. but then again. pvp is not here yet. so better drop that buff off atm.

I know not every class uses a shield, but as a pure SPR Priest (previously), I would rather have Iron Skin with 1 skill point than Aspersion on the buff bar. Even the block rate (if I remember right) is capped at 75%, but may reduce combos with blocking.

ooh nice tip. ill note this too when CBT starts.

To all interested in this topic, I am hereby rescinding a portion of my guidance. Some information has come to light for me that has completely changed my thinking on the game and some things need to be amended. Maybe I’m wrong again but after discussing the matter with a friend who is currently level 174, the following seems to be an accurate assessment.

The long and short of it is, the only things that matter in this game are damage and heal. At higher levels of play it all devolves into killing things as quickly as possible and staying alive. Defense is confirmed practically worthless. My experience with Resist Elements has been underwhelming at best so that leaves little promise for me. All you need to do in a support role is be able to kill things, help the party kill things, and heal. Damage reduction is a loosing battle and dead monsters cant hurt anyone so killing them before they can hit you or hit you again is a much better defense than trying to reduce that damage.

Next, every character needs DEX, especially a Priest. The Cafrisun armor set is fundamental to our damage output and without DEX monsters WILL dodge your attacks starting at around lvl 65 or so. The first occurrence of this I experienced was Hogma Archers. It continued with Varvs in the Mausoleum and it has only gotten worse since. I don’t find it viable to use a better glove as breaking the complete set of Cafrisun is too big a blow to DPS. Better off pumping DEX as it also gives evasion and is basically the God stat at this stage.

The next thing is the pointlessness of Paladin. With an Arde Dagger, Cafrisun armor, Bless+Sacrament you will easily outdamage Smite on non-weak targets with a single auto-attack. The wind-up on Smite results in it missing fairly often and reducing DPS. You’re much better off auto-attacking with the dagger in hand. Stone Skin is far more useful than any Paladin support skill in the first two circles as it mitigates damage rather than reducing it. Restoration seems lackluster as pots are still required in a dungeon party. As stated above, Resist Elements has been less than impressive in practical use. Having a higher leveled Mass Heal is far more effective than whatever supposed scaling it has with SPR and leaving it at level 5. Better practical support appears to be had with Priest C3 in every regard.

In light of this information I have to say that, in my opinion, the best support build, and best Priest build in general, is to take Priest to C3, skip aspersion, GET AN ARDE DAGGER, and then go Monk. Either do a DEX focused build with secondary STR using crit damage weapons like the Golden Falchion or Skull Crusher or do a STR focused build with secondary DEX which should be cheaper to run but still effective. Monk is the best damage dealing Cleric class so it is the natural choice for an actually useful character. The other thing is how cheap Priest attributes are. Rank 4 and 5 attributes become really expensive. It costs a tremendous amount of money to try to power up Smite and then attempt to move on to Monk and do the same with Double Punch. With how practically useless Smite is in a fast paced environment it is simply not worth the investment in my opinion.

If anyone has any questions feel free to PM me or whatever. Hope you guys have a good one.
