Prepare for new builds?!

Was talking to some GM and Devs earlier today and they’re planning on letting players go down job ranks. During job change not sure if it’s an experiment or not, or just trolls lol we’ll see this weeks patch.

Ex. Sword > Pelta > Down back Sword
Ex. Sword > High > Down back Sword

Any thoughts on this? :stuck_out_tongue:

Would be interesting. Depends how how this will work.

Version 1: Sword 1 > Pelta > Sword 2
Version 2: Sword 1 > Pelta > Sword 3

Second version with the restriction that max skill level for Swordman would still be 10. But you get access to 3rd cirlce skills. This would also mean that you can’t go back any time you want. You just skip Sword 2 and you can’t get it anymore.

For version 1 it would be interesting to know if you could go back any time or how far you can go back. E.g. Squire > Sword.

Looking forward to how or if they are doing something like this.

Version 2 make more sense to me but version 1 would need IMC to rework a bit on the paths. But I feel like this idea is for people who are inpatient or lazy to level to get to the classes they want or skills. But this idea is still interesting if they do it right.

But if C1 skills will be capped at 10 what would C2 and C3 skills cap at? D:

You wouldn’t get C2 skills and C3 are still max level 5.

Hmm. Makes sense. If they DO make it like that, I’m going Cryo > Psyco > Cryo then.

I realize this Idea won’t work well because

You can’t go Sword>Sword>Pelt
Sword >Sword>High

You would have to go Sword>Bar>Sword
Sword>Hop>Sword

But going Bar or Hop at rank 2 is restarted lol in my opinion

I think I understand how it will work. I don’t know if this is one of the versions from above. xD You will be avaible to finish the classes you started I think. So it will be like Sword 1> Pelta 1> Pelta 2 > Pelta 3 > Sword 2 > Sword 3 It will be really good if it will be like that.

I will be Cleric> C3 Priest> C3 Pardoner > C3 Army Chaplain then ( if there will be rank 10… oh and it matters becasue I think Chaplain comes after C2 Pardoner so I couldn’t make Pardoner C3 then )

I don’t think you can skip C2 like that (version 2) because that would make it totally messed up and confusing imo.

Who said you would go Sword > Sword > Pelt or Sword > Sword > High? No one. Pelt and Hight are Rank 2 classes and Barb/Hop rank 3. So it makes no sense what you wrote there

Yes I make sense because he or she wrote Sword>Pelta>Sword and Sword>High>Sword

It…actually was what I thought the class system is like back when I first heard the news (before any clarification)

You’d have the choice of either growing the class(es) you have or pick up new ones, but you’re still limit to however many ranks there are (not to mention that usually higher class skill will have better attack bonus, so per-skill-point efficiency leans towards high rank class)

And while I highly doubt it’ll happen (for now, I mean we don’t even have rank 7-10 classes out)
This also opens up possibility of having past-cap job level, something similar to GW2’s gaining skill point even after cap to unlock more skills or Diablo 3’s Paragon, though here it’ll be for unlocking classes on the tier you didn’t pick any + grow them…

Meaning while there’s 10 tier of classes, you can actually get up to 30-tier of leveling to get 10 C3 classes on one character.
You’ll still be limited by hotkey/buff slots so after a certain point your reward for the effort is very limited.
And certain combination will still be impossible to get since you still pick one of the two classes for each circle…(no Squire +Corsair for pirate camping experience '. ')
It’ll also give people who hit cap level a reason to still grind…even if it’s a small one.

But imagine, Fire Pillar + Hangman’s Knot.
Divine Might + Spell Shop for some super high level Sacrament that last for a long time.

I think this would be like a reset mechanic.
Like as if i went Sword1 > Hilander1 and lets say I changed my mind. I could then revert back down to Sword1 (losing my Hilander progress) and now take a different route and go Pelta1 or Sword2.

I don’t think they’ll do this. They haven’t polished existing system and they want to complicate it even further xD If they do I think it would go like Sword 1 > Pelta 1 > Sword 2 (but counting it as Sword 3 so you can’t go Sword 3 as 4th advance) > Pelta2 (but counting it as Pelta 3 so you can’t go Pelta 3 as 5th advance) or Cata/Rod

This would only make sense for testing purposes for your personal build.

Say you were a Centurion but wanted to go back to rank 5 so you can choose doppel at rank 6. An item would make it possible to do this. You would have to relevel to 15 in class and then go about choosing your class like normal.

Complicating the already difficult choices of the skill tree builder would just be a mess imo.

i am leaning towards this as well because the other ways mentioned seem too big of a change

Well I wish they would let you keep the rank you already done so in the end you can unlock all the class rank and just mix and match them. Kinda OP but look at the grinding involved.
