Possible error when attempting to redeem Leaf Penguin (First time player event) *RESOLVED*

I have claimed the boost box on all four characters on my account but had neglected to redeem the Leaf Penguin. When finally attempting to redeem it last night, I received a system message along the lines of “You do not have enough character/companion slots. It will cost 35 TP to add another slot. Do you want to purchase this now?”

Is this expected and I’m missing something that I’m supposed to have done? Or is this a bug with the redemption of the penguin? I will add a screenshot later once I return home.

Pets/Companions takes up a char slot, if your char slots are all used you can’t use the penguin.

Thanks for the reply. Just for clarity, that means that if one chose to redeem the penguin, they would be limited to using the event rewards on only three characters unless they purchased an additional slot?
