Possibility for Scam?

I dont know if it would be the right section and i dont know if this was posted another time (too lazy today to do search), but i saw someone playing around with crafted items and it brought my attention to this “exploit” so i decided to test it out on an item that i wont use and will sell on the npc:

If a person in a hurry or not paying the right attention buy it for a high amount and notice that its not enhanced will have a nice susprise.

@STAFF_Shawn if you could pass this to the devs to make a filter of some sort not allowing those kind of characters in the crafting system it wouild avoid unecessary complains.

A text filter may become quite annoying (remember that you can also type whatever you want into the description… such as “Increases Attack Speed” or “Has a 10% chance of applying the Poison status on hit.”).

Instead of applying a text filter, I think changing the color of the custom Name and Description so that it stands out more would be a reasonable solution.

I’m in agreement with this.

Imagine searching the market board and seeing a ton of blue +15 next to the item’s actual refine level and the item’s name in white. It would be a really quick way to differentiate between what is custom and what is in the system :astonished:

Indeed its better that way too, but i think a filter on the title of the weapon should be done, i mean, its the name of the weapon, the person barely notice the description.

Yes, but not when dealing directly with the seller.

Yeah there is a big possibility of careless people getting scammed the way is is now. Changing the color of the comments on the item is a good way of handling it.

At least they put the real name in parenthesis. If you see () beware.

Yeah, but its all the same color, if they at least change the color of the name we put or the color of the base name it would be fine, or add a filter lol. Still very susceptible to scam if the person buying not pay attention.

Just make + a invalid character for naming crafting gear.

People are buying things for 1/2 of market sell value.
People trying to scam others of theyr money wiht +5 (non upgraded crafts).

Etc. Etc.

These people are trying to gain money trough stupidity of others.
And sometimes it surely works.

I can’t imagine someone being stupid enough to fall for it … but it happens.

I’ve seen stuff like this on the market before. You know… LIKE WHEN WE HAD ONE. seriously though, if you look at the item, you’ll see in very noticeable colored letters: Anvil Enhancement ▲##.

However for players that… are brand new and don’t experiment much and haven’t been exposed to the anvils I could see this going horribly wrong for them. Between the parenthesis and anvil enhancement text I would hope someone would notice that something is amiss.

The question is, will they even notice when they go all excited thinking they are doing a good business? And other thing, not many people even pay attention to small details. I was just alerting, if people still fall for this kind of thing, its their own fault in the end.
