After reading benjaserrau post, i had to come up with this, as the same thing happened to me and i got this ridiculous response.
This occured at june 3rd and i posted the ticket just as it happened
This is the ticket i oppened:

Type of Bug : Item Related
When the error happened(Date, time, location) : 03/06/2017, 17:30, Brasil time
Steps to reproduce the issue : I died with my character on the lvl 290 instance, then i got back to pick up the gems, realy fast as i was not far from the location, and the gems started to come REALY slow to my inventory, like 1 gem come then the other took more then 5 secs to pickup, i stayed close to the gems for the entire time they were on the ground and just picked up 3 gems out of more then 20.
Description : As i said on the description above, i want my high level gems back pls… it looks like it were some kind of server lag issue, i dont know

Furthermore, as a friendly advice, kindly always bring Soul crystal in your inventory to prevent this issue in the future.
Also, if this issue happen again in your end, kindly take a video or screenshot of it for us to investigate this further.

I was literally at the door, so better spend TP and spend your Soul Crystals to lose your gems anyway as they say.
Take your own conclusions, I dont know how this game keeps up with this ridiculous support.
No sights of my lost gems yet.
