So…i’ve created 2 builds for my new swordsman but dont know what to go for.

I’m not a huge fan of mounts in ToS cuz this green little dude is kinda…strange. But i do know that mounting has some good stuffs. It’s a PvP focused build so pls help me choose one. If u can let me know what u think about both builds, what is good and bad at each one.
You need at least 2 ranks of hoplite to be efficient in both builds
Hop is not that good for PvP and it doesnt fit :s
sw>pelt>hop2>corsair2>goon2
or
sw2>hop2>corsair2>goon2.
Main job is to land hooks. Hop c2 allows you to jump in and out.
Barb is better than hop for cc but you loose mobility and spears. Up to you to choose.

Oh, yeah, sw3>cata3 is the better build. I had one but I can’t stand pets. I like running. Footman needs Iron Hook. Don’t choose a build without Iron Hook if you’re going with no mount.
I dont like to mount either, but player here like to play like a robot, using what is top instead with what they like.
I really like your build, but I would choose corsair on rank 5 because Iron Hook is kind of overpowered on PVP, so you may have to sacrifice other class on your build. But is your choice, you dont its bound to use corsair, its just that is a nice debuff to enemys on PVP, specially for swordsman.
I dont know if Hop C2 is really necessary, the skills appear to be more PvE than PvP.
hoplite 2 in pvp LOL don’t listen to that guy
don’t listen to these guys, the best pvp build is still swordsman 3 cata 3 dragoon,
for your question the 2nd build is much better, highlander hoplite and barbarian are very bad at pvp.
Go for the mounted build.
and what if what they like its what’s top? what’s the problem with going with a popular build? its a stupid approach sorry. If you enjoy a build it shouldn’t matter what his popularity is.
The guy wants to pvp, the 2nd build is better for pvp.

For a mounted PvP build you might want to go with this:
For Lancer, max Crush for extended armor break, Joust at 2 for a bit longer Cleric and Mage silence, Unhorsing at 1 because nothing else on the skill changes, Quintain at 2 because nothing else is worth maxing but has nice damage, and Deployment at 5 to ignore loads of block and pass over magic circles.
For umounted:
This build takes one in Peltasta to be useful in mobbing later but will be a PvP focused build. You take an extra rank in Swordsman after pelt for restrain and longer duration on Pain Barrier. Rodelero will help with CC, magic resistance and boosting strike damage. I recommend getting Corsair at rank 5 for the Hook, its great in PvP.
At Murmillo, Cassis always at 1, Frenzied Slash maximum to affect the most enemies, evade thrust at 2 for better damage and applying bleed, Headbutt at 2 for better damage and an additional strike debuff and finally Scutum Hit for a higher stun chance and awesome damage.
Replace highlander and barb with something else u won’t use any highlander skill or barb later in the game.
