Please give players some ability to combat bots

The low level zones are infected with bots. On any give screen I can count 5 instantly with gibberish scrambled letter names. Please add a report function or figure out a way to give trusted community members the ability to take action against these bots. They are flooding the server. I ran around tenant church 1f and the amount of bots are absolutely staggering.

Having a GM quickly run thru the areas would quickly eliminate a lot of them.

I wouldn’t mind a report feature but I think they’d get flooded with reports. Not to mention, this would become League of Legends and kids would go crazy reporting each other.

Not the high level ones.

The high level ones where they are storing their silver are the biggest threats really and they’re coded in such a way you have to observe them for awhile to conclude they’re a bot. They have a few unrealistic actions to their mob slaying but they aren’t straight up obvious like teleporting hacks.

The report system could do something like flagging your account -> Freezes transactions on the AH and trades for 24 hours or until it’s reviewed. It would be very easy to look @ some of these accounts that have been leveling for 40+ hours straight and realize no human is playing them.

They are not ‘storing’ silver on any account. They are making purchases via single bots that have been running for extended periods of time. It would be absolutely foolish of them to attempt to transfer silver to one account knowing silver would be locked in limbo for 2 days as well as the added risk of a massive inflow of silver via the AH to a single account.

But all the GMs are on vacations.

I never said they were storing it across a single account, I was stating the high level bots are the ones that are most troublesome because this is where their accounts with the silver they’re selling are. Each bot likely has different amounts of silver and it’s spread out so if they lose one it’s not too big of a loss. However they’re still using caution hence why these bots are coded better and not as obvious.

Once again that is not the case. They do not care about being ‘obvious’. They zerg farm silver until the account is banned. They are selling silver from every account that can make a transaction. ‘high-level’ bots are not common at all except for players who intend to use these characters. Those who truly intend to sell silver stay in a single zone grinding endlessly. Go to Tenet Church 1F and look at all the bots whom are level 63. They’ve out leveled the zone and no longer gain experience

Who’s to say both aren’t the case? They have disposable bots and then the high level ones they want to keep safe. I’m not against your suggestion but it wouldn’t work on the 120+ ones is all I’m saying.

If that scenario is true then yes it might be harder to spot, but I believe the biggest detriment to this game will be new players seeing nothing but bots as they progress the early zones. at ANY time of night almost all of Tenet church/chapel is infested with bots. The majority of them don’t move and attack things from miles away as well as having asndaujda as names. Just need some simple policing and a few counter-measures to slow them down.

I agree with you on that front, I’m not against your idea of having a GM do a quick scope and ban hammer in fact I’m for it. I’m just stating this won’t work on the smarter high leveled bots.

I haven’t reached the higher level zones yet so I haven’t been able to witness this, the more sophisticated botters. Obviously if they are more sophisticated, we’d need to devise a system in which GMs can use on these individuals, for example, a bot check: RSVSD -> Type this here type thing. I’m sure virtual currency sellers will eventually find a way around it after awhile but we’ll just need to make a new system.

I’m wondering, what if there is one GM in charge, only to ban bots. And I mean BAN :hammer::hammer::hammer:
In lower areas, they move the same, the names also follow a patters. It’s easy to identify them. When the GM suspect, then he/she confirms, and then BAN (not the char but the account). :hammer::hammer::hammer:

I’m more worried about the priest bots. They are lvl 120+…what if they all become pardoners and kill the pardoner market for real players D:
